| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
This print shows a small part of Jostedalbreen, in Norway, the largest glacier in continental Europe. (There are larger glaciers in Iceland.) I call it 'Glacial Warming' because it appears the glacier is sublimating directly into the clouds. Although Jostedalbreen has been expanding for most of the 20th century, researchers have recently seen signs of shrinkage, uncovering ground not previously exposed. Summer skiing there will still be possible for some time to come, though.
