Photographer’s Note
An ice climb on Ben Nevis called Gover's chimney, I have a feeling it is either grade III or IV, not too hard to climb.
This is a very good friend Phil Crutchely who perversely seems to be enjoying himself, not so on other climbs we did on the Ben.
Oh yes its rather cold thats why he has a woolly hat under his helmet!
This photo is an orginal black and white film and has a lot of scratches and some fungi at the bottom centre of the frame, the spot healing tool in photshop would correct this easily. I have not got this facility yet so scratches stay.

The use of black and white seems to emphasise the feeling of cold here, and I like how you framed the climber with the ice encrusted rock walls.
And to think people do this sort of thing for fun!
Crazy.
Cheers,
Ben

Hello Simon,
It's difficult to choose a picture in your gallery.
I'm a climber, and I think it's because of that I love the atmospher of this picture. What is greatest as this kind of climb with this weather.
Greetings.
Igor
PS : I will come back soon in your gallery!

Hi Simon. Such a shame that the dreaded mould should have got to this because the perspective is excellent. I managed to clean up quite a bit the damage but my advice, now that you have a backup scan, is try a product called Pec 12 from Photographic solutions. It is expensive to buy for just one negative but I'm sure you have plenty more mould where that came from and I reckon these images are worth saving. BTW. the healing tool won't work on this.

Hi Simon,
THis is a fascinating shot, made all the more dramatic with the use of Black and White. Your friends posture gives such a feeling of danger, but is clearly loving every minute!
I am pleased you were able to stop and take this shot (somehow!).
Kind Regards
Steve

Hello again Simon
No problem with the scratches, it kind of makes it look more genuine.
You have been some impressive places.
I do agree that the guy looks like he is enjoying it, wonder why.
Regards
Harry

I can almost feel the cold. I cannot believe he is smiling. He really must be British ;-)
