Hotel Moscow is situated in the very heart of Belgrade, representing a valuable architectural monument under government's protection. It's one of the oldiest Serbian hotels, built in 1906 in a secession style, quite daring for that time. Due to that, hotel Moscow gave a huge contribute to a process of forming Belgrade's modern face. Hotel Moscow is notable for many reasons. It addition to quickly becoming a city landmark, it was, for many years, the gathering point of many famous writers, politicians and musicians who have either stayed there or frequented its cafe and restaurant. The hotel has won numerous awards. Today, hotel has status of a 4 star hotel, 132 rooms and 6 apartments, 2 restaurants (one with international while the other with national cuisine), also a snack bar, a famous old fashioned café and a summer garden which is very popular with guests.

In front of the hotel is Terazije fountain, built in 1860 during duke Miloš Obrenović reignacy. It’s made of white stone with initials M.O.(for Miloš Obrenović) near the top together with year 1860. In 1911 the fountain was moved to the Topcider Church churchyard. In 1975 the fountain was brought back to Terazije were it still stands as a monument and a fountain. At this very spot is the center of Balkan, and the distance of each place in the city is measured from that point. Most of relevant institutions and business buildings are nearby.
