Photographer’s Note

Passeieral is a narrow valley north from Merano, in South Tyrol. At the very end of the valley you can find the town of Sankt Leonhard.
the picturesque hamlet is the main locality of rich green Val Passiria. The place is conveniently located at the bottom of even two mountain passes: Passo Rombo leading to Austria and Passo Giovo leading to Vipiteno. With its hamlets Gleiten, Gomion, Mora/Prantago, Schweinsteg and S. Orsola it covers actually a fairly large area.

Situated right in front of the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park, San Leonardo is the ideal place for beautiful hikes and tours across untouched natural sceneries.

Here is a view of the Pfistradtal, a small valley starting from Sankt Leonhard towards the border with Austria. A place full of magic..

Hi Samuele,

Here is a cow which is lucky to have such a landscape for it all alone !!! I like very much the framing used here which emphasizes the landscape well. The saturated colors are very beautiful and pleasant and this sky gives much relief to the image. Beautiful work, cheer.

Hi, Sam. A good idea to include the cow in the foreground. This gives depth to your picture and adds to the rural aspect of the photo. The colours are well saturated. The place looks very peaceful.

This is an appropriate choice of title for this stunning portrait. What else would one do with a view like this?! And the compo is just excellent, with all elements perfectly framed in relation to each other- the cow, mountain and cloud make a pleasing visual triangle. Compliments on the fine work!

Hi Samuele,
It would have been a nice shot without the cow, but here the cow understands its job ... be nice and show the horns.
Good compo this way and lovely colors. The clouds are important here I think as a completely blue sky wouldn't be that interesting I think.

Color this cow in violet and you'll have a perfect add for Milka chocolate.
Fine, sharp and clear landscape with beautiful sky and fresh green and blues of hills. Good composition enhanced with cow in front.

A very pleasant mountain landscape indeed. The colours are perhaps just a little too saturated (at least on my screen), but it's still OK. The cow is well placed in the compo and the vertical framing gives a lot of overall depth, especially with those huge white clouds in the sky.

Hi Samuele,
So pristine, crisp and clear! Perhaps this high up in the mountains you achieve similar pure air clarity in summertime as in autumn and winter...The cow perfectly frames the foreground, with the portal to the valley leading to wonderful patches of light, shadow and varying green fields and woods. The depth here is wonderful, all topped off by a bucolic sky with character clouds...Very fine work, Samuele. Love this shot.

Hi Sam,
What a beautiful, peaceful scene! The colours are amazing, the light is great, and the depth you've captured, particularly with the bull (I assume it's a bull, although I can't see the other end. Maybe it's a cow... Did you check?) in the foreground and the mountains in the far distance, is excellent. The other thing about capturing the scene with the bull is that it lifts this image to being so much more than just another pic of beautiful scenery.

I love the vertical aspect of your shot. The focal point is the cow but take it out and there is still a wonderful image with the trees on the left, the hills on the right and all sat in front of the wonderful cloudy blue sky. A fine capture, well done.

looking at photos like this I feel I might want to be a cow, at least for a while :) fantastic scenery, and the vertical format works very well to emphasise the narrow and steep slopes of the mountains. lush colours add a fresh feeling, and the animal is just the right accent for this pastoral scene. very nice work, my compliments.
