Paparazzi

The last 4 posts in my brazilian travelogue are different moments of a brief but unforgettable TE meeting in Paraty. The hike through wonderful beach stretches and virgin rain forest, “Mata Atlantica” led us to the “Piscina Caxadaço”. After a nice rest the ladies were still tired and not in the mood to walk back. The small taxi motor boats were a to big temptation. So there we went back to Trindade ... and the TE people just couldn’t stop to do what they best do. Shoot pictures! In this particular moment captured here they were paparazzi.

Paparazzi is a plural term (paparazzo being the singular form) for photographers who take candid photographs of celebrities, usually by relentlessly shadowing them in their public and private activities.

I see every day so many street photography at TE and wondered since beginning at TE how much legal issue could be there. We live in the most litigious society on earth, and we produce images that are whipped around the planet on the internet, subject to being co-opted, misappropriated, misused or objected to, all in real time. The legal aspects of making and displaying images should be a concern for every TE member. For anyone interested in this matter I found a very interesting and helpful web-page to be checked out.

Oh, by the way, the identity of these people on this post are classified, otherwise I would be suit.

Very nice picture. I like the colours and the conposition the only thing will be that I will like to see her left hand but it is a minor thinh just picky

Hi Peter,
Great shot!! It does look like papparazzi after a celebrity. She certainly is attractive enough to qualify. It looks like she's basically okay with your shot, but does she realize that there are two more cameras behind her??

So it sounds like we're legal for the present. IO suspect that some people might object if they knew their picture was going to be posted on the web. However, I've found that few people around here object to being photographed; even those that do soon assent after we talk a bit.

Eu não sei se é "paparazzi" ou não mas, que a garota é muito bonita lá isso é. E o ar distraído do motorista está fantástico. Está a dizer que não está a ver nada e que vai concentrado no seu trabalho. Como se fosse possível!!!
Excelente imagem esta, com uma composição muito boa e umas cores maravilhosas. Gosto muito.

I don't think that Christine is going to file a lawsuit against you. She looks very well.
Nice shot with the rest of the TE friends taking shots at the same time. Looks that the Nikon is a very popular camera. Good shot.

I am not surprised! Such model! Amazing, dynamic report photo. I suppose that next part of photos when model will be in wet dress should be even more interesting.

Hi Peter, this is nice as a picture :) I like your original idea to shoot those paparazzis and the "madonne" with her hand on her cap. That gives a pleasant view, worth seeing, i really enjoyed it :)

Interessante imagem! Abordar esse assunto foi legal, pois temos muio poucos "paparazzi" aqui no TE! Acredito que a viagem tenha cido muito proveitosa mesmo!

Hello Peter -

It looks like you have a willing model; therefore, paparazzi would not be the correct term. Did you get a model release? Oh well, a fun image to say the least and much better than the paparazzi images.

Quite a funny shot of the photographers taking pictures of you taking a picture of them. The lady seems to be making a willing model. I like her pose with her hand holding her hat. You raise quite a serious issue. I don't know the exact regulations in the UK but they are strict, especially with children.

Ficou muito boa a composição. O barco, já naturalmente afinalado, ficou com essa característica mais a mostra pela aberturad da lente. O mar e a floresta foram excelente pano de fiundo para o principal assunto.

Ótima foto, Peter! Gostei muito! E a nota também é muito boa! A composição ficou muito legal com esta "celebrity" segurando o chapéu diante do trio atormentador! Isa e Paulo ao fundo, suponho. A lady nem imagino quem seja, escondida atrás de óculos escuros e chapéu de abas largas, exatamente como faz alguém que foge dos paparazzi! Ademais, a qualidade da foto em si é ótima e quero ver se vejo as versões da dupla de trás. Imagino que se divertiram um bocado por lá....
Bem, paparazzi poderia ser aqui "paratyzzi" ou então "paparaty"... ;-D

Hi Peter,
I hate that when the paparazzi are following me day and night. It seems you suffer from the same problem. Beautiful colors and detail with a unique reversal look photographers take pictures of each other. Nice effect of the lovely lady having a problem keeping her hat on.

Engraçado como se pode enquadrar tão bem em tantas categorias (e não estou só a falar das existem no TE) e ser tão boa em qualquer delas. Acho que a poria no top da "composição", "qualidade técnica", "humor", "belezas naturais", "beleza feminina" e "modelos talentosos".
Essa sua amiga do chapéu parece ter um jeito natural para ser fotografada!

Do aeroporto de Belém, 2:40 da manhã, esperando meu vôo daqui a pouco de volta pra casa ;) (Uma hora eu tinha que voltar, né?): a Cris é realmente fotogênica (além de bonita, mas são coisas diferentes, vc sabe).
a composição tá bacana, principalmente pq você esconde alguns rostos e mostra outros (gosto mesmo do fato de você não mostrar os rostos dos fotógrafos: em geral, eles são o que menos interessa ao público).
as cores estão fabulosas. naquele ir e vir do barco, é incrível tamanha nitidez - até perdôo a mão da Cris ter sido chopped off - mas dizer que "the ladies were still tired and not in the mood to walk back. " é meio muito, né, meu lindo? ou você tb não tava cansado?

PS: fiz fotos lindas. Belém e o Marajó são lugares vibrantes e preciosos. pela primeira vez na vida tive vontade de comprar uma casa...
