Pamilla Beach Photo

Photographer’s Note

This picture was taken at the Palmilla Beach located in the southeastern corner of the Dominican Republic. Is one of the most visited beach by tourists that comes to visit our hotels located in La Romana and Bayahibe Beach areas plus some of the hotels in Punta Cana located in the eastern part of the country.
The beach belongs to the Del Este National Park which attracts more visitors than all other Dominican national parks combined, the park includes the offshore island of Saona, which comprises 30 percent of the park’s total area.
The sea in this area is very shallow and the bottom is like a swimming pool and visitors can enjoy getting off their boats and walk around.

Hi Emile. The light is strong but it is far from being harsh. I think the amount of water, land, and sky is you composed is perfect. I like all of your workshops too. Actually I'm not sure which one I like the most. Beautiful shot Emile!

Great water color you ve got here, and it looks very quiet as well... Good POV and framing, nice sharpness, exposure a bit strong but I think you got the most out of this super strong light...

It looks idyllic Emile. The colours, sharpness and light are wonderful. I prefer this crop to the one done by Pedro. The main reason is I think the space without the palms on the left of the composition is necessary for a kind of balance. It's somewhere for the leaning palms to be pointing into if that makes sense. I also like your complementary WS images showing the tourists arriving to disturb the peace on this Paradise.

fantástica imagen, este paisaje paradisíaco es lo que todos esperamos ver en las playas de tu bello país.
Las palmeras peinadas por el viento, la arena blanca, el cielo azul con nubes, y el mar color turquesa forman una excelente composición, que invita a soñar.
Preciosa foto, amigo, y también me gustan los WS, nos dan mucha más información sobre este maravilloso lugar. No me importaría ser uno de los turistas que aparecen en ellos.

Hi Emile,
The simplicity of this shot is its strength. A tropical sea, a line of palms, and a little boat on the shore waiting for action. I like the clarity of detail on the trees here and our ability to discern the little huts. You controlled the strong light here very well. An alluring postcard to warm chilled northern bones. Well captured.

Hola Emile, a very attractive paradise image, with lovely colors. Everything seems to be perfect: a natural pool with crystaline waters, beautiful green scenery too provide protection from the hot sun and fantastic temperatures. It's interesting to see this from a point of view of an inhabitant, instead of the usual tourists' POV. Good simple composition with natural colors.

Emile, there is a portuguese word that I never found in any other language. This word is "saudades". It means the pain that someone suffers of missing someone or missing a place very much. That is the exact felling that you're provoquing right now. I remember this place so well. I did swim in the "piscina" and would love to be there again ...

I guess for us people up in the north we are very weak for those places looking like paradise. The green ocean, the white sand, the palms and the small huts in the shade - sure something to dream about on a cold day..

this place looks like a paradise in your picture! A perfect composition, colors and.... I can feel a light wind running into the palms. But it is a paradise for many people!! It is right that lots of people can enjoy such a place... but my dream is to be alone there !! (You make me rememebr an island inear Ko Phi Phi in Thailand, the place where Leo Di Caprio played his movie "The Beach": thousands of people there!)

Anyway... I love to swim, and I prefer a deeper sea .... !!

I heartedly want to thank you for sharing this paradise from your good country even though late for the visit!
