A shot of Los Lanceros, a famous and beautiful street in Puerto Cabello, which is located in the older Puerto Cabello. It's name comes from the brave "lanceros" (lancers, pikemen?) of José Antonio Páez, who marched through this street after occupying the city in 1823.
There still are some beautiful samples of the colonial architecture which keep the splendor of those days and the heroic actions of the patriotic army alive.
It was declared National Historical Heritage."

"Puerto Cabello is a city on the north coast of Venezuela. It is located in the state of Carabobo about 75km west of Caracas. As of 2001, the city has a population of around 154,000 people." The city is the home to one of the two the largest ports in the country and "is thus a vital cog in the country's vast oil industry. It literally means Port Hair."
"Due to Puerto Cabello's location it was attacked by buccaneers and was a popular market for Dutch smugglers during the colonial era. It was the last Spanish royalist stronghold during Venezuela’s war for independence, it was captured by José Antonio Páez in 1823."

The picture turned out a little dark, so I increased gamma, increased contrast and added a frame. (as far as I recall - I did postprocessing some time ago) |

Hi Yvonne,
Simple but very good sight on this small street, very nice perspective.
Good lighting and very pretty colours of the small house.
Good framing and good sharpness, very nice composition..!
Best regards,
Patrick
This composition is lovely. The color tone effects from low side are definately giving it more attraction. Good POV and great idea.

A nice perspective with colorful houses on the sides, Yvonne; nicely framed with those leaves up there... pity you had quite a bland sky... cheers :) Daniel
