Photographer’s Note
This time I have more info about Grimoldo, Gae sends me this (the translation’s errors are mine!) :
“Grimoldo’s district is more known as “ pears’ district” because of the pear trees grows up on the houses , the locality dates from 1400. Seems that the Longobard king Grimaldo in 642 allowed bishops the Serina valley , then two bishops split the territory and founded two villages.
The peasants, constructing contiguous house and stable, obtained some advantages: they put the beasts together, they saved money constructing only one wall between house and stable and took advantage from the heat of the animals to heat themselves. Moreover, the first floor of the houses was constructed in stone to isolate the houses from the humidity of the earthly and the snow; the second floor was made of wood, a lighter and warm material. They used to hang out the washing at their small windows to protect themselves from the winter cold.”
In this shot I show you one of this houses with the peer tree, unfortunately only few peer trees remain because of the restructuring.
I can’t take this photo with the best pov because of the cars parked in front of the house.
In the WS there is the sepia version.
Hope you like it!

This is beautiful Alessandra. The tree seems to be embracing the house in a love and protecful way. This is very symbolic either. I like it a lot and don't think the POV is a problem here. The tight frame is perfect.

What a beautiful tree – and beautiful building, too. I like the horizontal areas in different colors – yellow-green-gray. Very Italian atmosphere. And very good tight framing. Interesting note, too.
I like your WS – but prefer this color version.

Grande foto, Alessandra! As always in your pics I like especially the light ... and even more then in your last one I prefer the colour version to the sepia version:-)

I don't choose between the color version and the sepia one because the two have their pleasant own atmosphere : more graphic for the color and more intimist for the sepia.
One little thing (sorry I have no more Workshops left for today so I can't show you with an image) : if you crop just a little in the right, you can remove as well the little brown piece in the top corner as the white one in the bottom corner.
The light is beautiful and the note interesting.
Well done, Ale !

What a unique find, Alessandra. Very nice framing and good cropping in this shot of the tree growing on the house (or is it the other way around?). Good contrast, and I think the slight crop suggested by Yves might be interesting. Instinctively (instinct is a very important quality for a photographer ;-) you chose the right version again for your posting; the sepia is doing much less for my pleasure than the color version. Well done.

Excellent post Alessandra. It actually looks like if it is a Venetian carnival mask on the house.

A really good shot Ale. That tree is in love with the house, or at least with that facade. Nice light, very soft indeed. And in fact with those two windows in the middle, it makes me think to a kind of small carnaval mask you put to not to be recognized. The POV is very good indeed! Very well done.

Che bella casa!
hai notato che la pianta sembra comporre una maschera di gatto ? (forse me lo sogno io...)
Comunque mi piace il contrasto.
Come sempre, molto brava
