Photographer’s Note
St Mary's church of Dalton-in-Furness, built on a site that has had a church on it since the 8thC, it is on a hill next to Dalton Castle. Made of red sandstone with distinctive red and white stonework on the tower and the upper walls. The church houses a 14thC font and glasswork picturing saints from 1320-1360. The rest of the glass is Victorian.
George Romney, native of Dalton, b1734, and famous author is buried in the chrch grounds. There is also a plaque outlining the devastating effects of an outbreak of the Bubonic Plague in 1631.
This shot was taken from the cemetary which is on another hillside.

The trees in the foreground makes a circle and the frames the church. Good. But it's to bad with the trees in front of the church. They are a bit to noisy and hides to much of the church it self. Useful guidelines.

Hi Jean,
your composition of this interesting church is well made. Good that you captured it in the time when trees aren´t green yet and this architecture is still seen.
have a nice weekend
