Photographer’s Note

Just a dock in Medina. It is a public park, but it's tiny, won't show up on any maps, and you will probably miss it driving by. But it is a nice peaceful, relaxing place to be.

A mile or two down the lake to right is Bill Gates' house.

A little about the photo:
This is taken at night, very dark out on the dock, but water is reflective enough to pick up some light during a long exposure. This is actually a combination of two exposures, one 30 seconds, which captures the sky and the lights from Seattle, and one over 1 minute to make sure the dock is exposed.

Lovely image, as u say in the note there's a nice atmosphere of peace and quietness.
The perfect focusing and composition create a nice effect, and the night light adds more fascination to the whole.

The result is astonishing. It seems a sepia effect but it isn't.

Your photo is allmost unreal..like a very good 3D model of the dock with a picture of Seattle as a background. Amazing! I like it very much. And you created that peaceful, relaxing atmosphere (you where writing about) in your shot too. The cloudless sky, the still water and the empty bench..it's like time stoped for few seconds just for you to take this shot.

Well done. What's especially remarkable about this picture (at least to me) is that you will able to capture the city lights. They add a nice effect to the picture. Great shot!
