Photographer’s Note

Halong Bay is a world heritage site, there are about 3000 of these islands rising out of the Gulf of Tonkin, it is amazing. Halong translates as 'where the dragon descends into the sea'. We went on a trip here from Hanoi and spent one night sleeping on a boat similar to the ones pictured in the background. You can kyak and swim in the water exploring the beautiful bay. There are also some caves and beaches to visit. There is a small fishing community that lives amongst these islands and you can see them zig-zagging around the area.

Hi Wanda,
the light is creating some dreamy mood. Looks a bit like evening. These islands look interesting, nothing flat, directly upgoinf to hills. I can imagine that this is a beautiful area. It is a pity that you cropped the top of the center island. Good water reflection of the boat.

The scene seems to have many other shots possible depending on your equipments. A problem is the frame, cropping the top of mountain.

A place i would like to visit, maybe next year. Soft colour tones in this image, but it creates a nice mood. The boat with the reflection brings good depth to the image...good work.

It is so wonderful... The mist and the smoothness of the colours on the bg and of the water gives it a dreamy mood that makes it very pleasant. The good sharpness and saturation of the fg enhances the boat very nicely. It could only be better if the fg boat wasn't so centred and if the top of the middle islet wasn't cropped.

Seems like this boat is equipped with a powerful engine...
The landscape is incredible as always, the limestone formations add strange shapes to the scenery!

Thank's for posting comment on my white horse photograph. Opportunity for me to discover your gallery :-)
I stop on this one, with a good subject on first plan with the typical boat in action giving depth to the photo. The landscape with all the island typical from Vietnam is a very good background for a good photo. The little boat highlight a lot that landscape.
