Está linda a tua homenagem a todas as mães deste mundo. A água tem um simbolismo fantástico e aquela flor vermelha representa muito bem as flores que nos deram vida. Ao mesmo tempo, as plantas do primeiro plano que em portiguês são chamadas "línguas de sogra" são também muito simbólicas nesta homenagem. Muito bem.

As a mother I will accept your good wishes with thanks. There must have been a change at sometime as in the UK there is a link with the Christian calendar and Mothers Day is 3 weeks before Easter Day, so I will celebrate twice this year :)
You chose a beautiful photo. I love slow-speed waterfalls and this one framed by tropical foliage is perfect. The anthurium(?) pointing into the scene is an excellent additional element.

Can i speak Peter...although i am not a mother ;-)
The idea and the exposure is very good. That small piece of red does a lot to the image. My problem is the foliage on the right, i think it's to much.
Nevertheless a very fine and well executed photo...and a nice tribute to all mothers in the world.

you captured the nature in its full vigor. It is very well framed and greatly composed with the outstanding red plant. The light is perfectly managed and thanks to the well chosen exposure, the silky effect of the falling water is very nice. Great one!

This is a good rain forest picture, i like that it is exposed all the way through, without any dark areas, and the orchid on the left is a welcome piece of color in it.

Hola Peter.
You are doing a great tribute to all mothers in TE with this excellent shot, I think you kept it in your file to give them this beautiful present today. I showed this superb shot to my wife and she loved it. We don't celebrate mother's day today but on the last Sunday of May.
I have been quite busy in the last two weeks but I will try to catch up on my critiques.

Olá Peter,

Não é preciso ser mãe nem sequer mulher para achar esta foto realmente muito bonita e encantadora. Toda aquela vegetação faz um belo enquadramento para a cascata, que ficou excelente com a baixa velocidade de obturação.
Aquela flor vermelha dá um belo contraste e não resisto a pensar se a sua forma fálica não indicia uma mensagem subliminar. :->

Ah, e não esqueçamos as cores Peterchrome. :-)

É engraçado que julgava que o Dia da Mãe em Maio era mais uma importação (provavelmente dos EU, como o dia de S.Valentim), pois desde há muito tenho ouvido que dantes o Dia da Mãe era celebrado no dia de Nª Srª da Conceição (de Aparecida no Brasil).

Lovely one for the mothers, first I have to say I like these photos of smoothed waterfalls using a slow shutter speed for their silky aspect, ok now we've seen plenty on TE already, but I still don't find them boring, you added here great value to this shot including this foreground flower that is an excellent eye focal point.
Looking at the gallery today it seems only France celebrates it on june 3rd...

That photo can be taken many ways!! I laughed out loud when I saw the photo, but from your critiques, everyone else took the photo very seriously. None of the ways I took it were serious, so I guess I´m just plain wierd!! In Hilo, they called them ´little boy´ flowers, but it looks more like a big boy to me.

Linda foto para sua homenagem as mães Peter. A diferença da data no meu pensar era apenas economica, como no dia dos namorados que no brasil não é no dia de São Valentino, passaram para junho para se ter mais um dia de boas vendas. Dia dos pais aqui no Brasil funciona no mesm oesquema, pois não é no dia de São José.
Belas cores e efeito de véu. O detalhe da flor em primeiro plano ficou interessante.

Beautiful place .. well composed .. I love that splash of red into the framing greens .. my one very nit picky thought .. is the water looks kind of flat .. it is beautiful over the rocks but then forms a solid sheet .. I wonder if a slightly faster exposure would make it a bit more active.

I really couldn't work out what this was from the thumbnail, Peter, so it was a pleasant surprise when I opened it. Only the presence of the Sansevieria in the foreground gives away that this is a cultivated area and not virgin jungle. Did you know that the common name of Sansevieria is Mother's-in-law tongue? An appropriate post for Mother's Day! Cheers . . . David

Hello Peter,

This is a poster which can be sold and fancy stores. I am sure that it will have plenty of buyers. Everything works so well, and the result becomes irrestible, peeoie want to have hung on their walls of at least as a screen saver.
By the way I also like the fonts of the signature at the bottom, could you tell me their name ?
