Photographer’s Note
Thank you all for your comments on my previous posting of this scene. Opinions on that image "Lock Arklet" included a number who were unsure about the central positioning of the tree and the boldness of the border used. That's the great thing about photography, one image, seen in many ways.
Here is another shot of Loch Arklet taken on another trip which, while it does not have the dramatic sky or spotlit areas of sunshine of the earlier version, was framed to offset the tree and has been given a less dominant border.
Best regards
Robin

Hi Robin,
This photo is a very nice gift for all of us. It`s so well done that even if I wanted to find a fault, I couldn’t.
Everything is just perfect: the colors, the POV, the subject and even the frame:)
Congratulations and thank you,
Nelu

Hi Robin,
Wonderful shot! I really like the lighting and the beautiful golden tones of the grasses in the foreground. These contrast nicely with the lovely blue tones in the sky and lake. The composition is also good with the clouds and mountains well positioned. Good depth and clarity. Well captured!

Robin,
A very beautiful scene that you've captured here. The colors are spectacular and the light is perfect. My recommendation would be to take three or four steps to the left so that the tree is closer to one of the spots in the rule of thirds. I'm not sure what the scenery is like here, but it would also be great if you could get 10-15 feet higher.
Really though, it's a great shot to begin with,
Brian

Hi,
Marvellous picture. Pity you can't pick those little trees up and move them about :-) I would have it on the right hand bump near the shore. Maybe justa touch of sharpening halo on the left horizon but hardly worth mentioning. Brilliant light and colour. I think I remember the great weather we had at that time. Thanks.
Dougie.

Very nice wide angle scenery! The tree could be little more to the right. I checked out your other pictures. You have a great gallery. TFS.

Hello Robin,
It looks in deed better composed this way.
Also the foreground and the tree lokk more "natural".

Hi Robin,
This photo from Loch Arklet is more traditional in composition, yet still has thet wonderful coloring and the "focusing tree" issue in it. I love how you chose your POV in order to place that lonely tree at the meeting point of all the parallel lines. Clouds are really a bonus and very useful for oranamenting the blue sky.
Cheers,
Deniz
