I had seen him coming from the distance, there was like an aura around him. He had an expression of purpose, as if "this" was the moment that he had been waiting for so long, walking painfully with his stick and slowly climbing down the stairs of the ghats :

just one of the so many pilgrims arriving daily in this sacred city, but there was something special in this man, unaware of the agitation around him, and then suddenly stopping and looking up with emotion into the skies...

(like the previous one, the date in unclear, the month April or May).

One can definately feel the emotion from this man. Good use of depth of field not to distract from him. Well seen and captured.

Hi Catherine,

Lot of things have worked well in this shot. The expression on the man's face, your POV, the bokeh, the saturation. The background with the woman's hands raised in prayer add to the mood as well. Overall, great atmosphere!

What I found slightly distracting is a shirt on the left. Wonder if you could have cropped it.

Olá Cath, nice isolation of this meaningful pose from the crowd. I admire such capability of concentration, no matter what's happening around...I would like to see a less central composition and a bit more contrast of him with the background, but I love the atmosphere. Good note.

c'est vrai que la photo serait encore mieux en désaturant un peu les couleurs, mais comme ça la photo a son effet; c'est vrai aussi que le bras ou dos sur la gauche perturbe un peu...

un très beau portait avec une bonne profondeur de champs.L'expression de cet homme est magnifique et tu l'as bien capturée.J'aurais peut-être décentré l'homme un peu sur la gauche,étant donné qu'il est tourné vers la droite.En tout cas,une belle photo.

Belle prise de vue de ce saddhu priant sous une très belle lumière. bonne profondeur de champ isolant le sujet qui est peut être trop central, mais c'est une belle photo. Les couleurs sont magnifiques.

You've produced a wonderful shot of the holy man, with a certain presence, or even an aura, and you've provided a beautifully written note to accompany it. The photo is beautifully composed, and well exposed. Considering this is the scanned form of a 23-year old slide, it is exceptionally succcessful.
