Photographer’s Note
Suddenly drums and songs were audible, three minutes later children, woman and man paraded along Watamu beach dancing, singing and having fun. The reason of the celebration is still today unknown...at least for me, what I know is that all these people were part of a football team.
I took a series of pictures, this specifically was captured when part of the "comparsa" saw my friend Joseph. Suddenly the whole group turned towards him (still drumming and singing), an old man approached Joseph with a hat in his hand...
