Bouleuterion of Aphrodisias Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is a capture I made from the upper seats of the Bouleuterion of Aphrodisias. İn the background, columns of the temple of Aphrodite can be seen.
A bouleuterion was a building which housed the council of citizens (boule) in Ancient Greece. The marble banks where the representatives of the city was sitting and debating their problems are now empty. The citizens are been replaced now by lizzards, spiders and in early morning hours many squirrels who jump from one seat to another one.
And if it is windy, you can hear the winds singing their song through the columns of the temple of Aphrodite.

Bu resmi Aphrodisias Bouleterion’unun üst sıralarından çektim. Arka planda Afrodit mabedinin sütunları gözükmekte.
Bouleuterion antik Yunanda halk (boule) meclisi anlamına geliyor. Üzerinde oturdukları ve şehirlerinin sounlarını tartıştıkları mermer sıralar artık boş. Onların yerini, kertenkeleler, örümcekler ve sabahın erken saatlerinde bir sıradan diğerine sıçrayan sincaplar almış.
Ve eğer hava rüzgarlıysa, Afrodit mabedinin sütunları arasından esen rüzgarın şarkısını duymak mümkün.

Bonjour Mesut,
j'aime beaucoup les lumières mitigées de cette photo. C'est inhabituel.
Joli ciel également. Le cadrage fait monter nos yeux le long des marches du coin inférieur gauche vers le supérieur droit.

401 de heyecan verici olmalı . 1den başlayıp aynı heyecanla yürüyüşe devam etmek...

Hi Mesut,
Interesting overview from this ancient place. I like warm weak light which introduces nice climate. Very good contrasts between ruins and bright sky.

Merhaba Mesut,

Benim kadar herhalde sen de Aphrodisias'in hayranisin. Bundan daha güzel, daha romantik bir tablosunu görmemistim. Situnlarin silüetleri harika bir gökün önünde nöbetçi gibi duruyorlar. Bunu da mutlaka aileme göstericegim, bik kac defa onlar da benimler orayi ziyaret etmisti.

Hello Mesut,
You have another excellent photo if this ancient ruins. The lighting is great and if you would have waited another few moments it would have been gone. Good job of catching the last fleeting rays of the soft sunlight. We can use our imaginations and go back 2,500 years ago and see this site in its full glory, with all of the people arguing about the affairs of the day. I love it!

There is something of wrong with this image...problem of compression ?
I can almost see each pixel, there...

I'll be back after seeing this photo with an another screen...maybe is my screen but is very strange.

I saw it on tree different screems...and the problem is the same, for me...I still can see a rectangular form of always each pixel...

Realy pitty beceause is good composition with good colors.

Hi Mesut,
Indeed, you messed up with the technical
quality of this photo because of a heavy
post-processing, but I still like it a lot
as it has got that unique atmosphere of
ancient places and your POV offers quite a
good, almost terraced composition which is
pleasing to one's eyes.
Also, that darkish ochre, almost brownish
colour palette is in good contrast with blues
in the sky.
