Photographer’s Note

A fresh one today. The hunt for repetitive pattern is done for me now. I took a trip in my kayak this evening and had this pattern under my eyes all the time. When some water splashed up on the deck the problem was solved. I have already posted three reflection pictures so I settle for the pattern with this one.

What it is? The cargo net on the foredeck of my red kayak. The camera purse created the gap between net and deck.

Had a good trip too, a bit windy for a while and in the end I almost had a collision - with a beaver. He seemed to think that he could cross my path and that I should give way. Maybe his right, he could be seen as a professional vessel.

The pattern made by both the web and the shadow of the web is surprising. Good shot and nice red kayak you have there

Nice option for the repetitive pattern. It is an original shot, and the contrats with the triangle of water is attractive to the eye (/comes out from the difference of textures I guess).

The red colour is flashy and therefore very important in this composition IMO. Well done.

Indeed a nice pattern. The sharpness of the wiring of the net adds to the picture. Something I a have not yet figured out: would it be a good idea to crop somehwat of the top and/or the bottom to give the impression of a larger pattern that is not limited ont he photograph. Let me hear what you think of this.

This is a nice composition
There is this special color shades of the red which is changing at the end to a lighter shade
The triangles as reflection are just wonderful
I played with your picture a bit and try to crop just the net and the red surface
It looks very special BUT the composition you choose is much nicer

A nice pattern, Ebbe, I had a hard time guessing what it was - and your title didn't help me. Meshed up? You caught a nice reflection of the net in the kayak surface, well enhancing the sense of repetition. Good color contrast black/red, also enhanced by the dark water. For fun I did a WS as suggested by Jan (kooreman), as I liked the idea.
Almost collided with a beaver(!) - sounds like an animal in it's natural habitat - I suppose you shot him (with your camera!)... ;o)

Excellent pattern, Ebbe, and a fine effect of the web and its shadows on the outside of the kayak - even more so from the contrast between the black and red colors. I also like the cropping a lot with the triangle of whirly dark water in the upper left. Well done on your latest entry to the "hunt".

very nice color. i like the reflection of the repetative pattern. i think maybe a little tighter crop would be nice, so you don't see what is in the bottom right corner (your camera case?)
