Photographer’s Note
Snapshot / candid photo.
The Documenta (16.06.-23.09.2007) is the exhibition for contemporary art, most meaning world wide. It takes place only every 5 years.
My photos are very subjective observations of art and people.
The today's photo shows the fascinating work of art "Electric Dress" of the Japanese Tanaka Atsuko. It is located in a relatively dark area and shines occasionally. The neon lamps and bulbs are to be carried after the conception of the artist as dress. The work of art receives large attention with the visitors of the exhibition. With their cameras they seem pray on the work of art.

Hello Wolfgang,
A touch of humour in this capture. A photograph of photographers capturing one of the more unusual works of art. I like the juxtaposition between the exhibit and the two photographers and the silhouette effect, particularly as regards the man in the foreground.

Hi Wolf,
I like the framing of the tourists and the art together with its reflection. The lights of the 'dress' seem vey slightly overexposed; perhaps it was necesary to get adequate detail in the rest of the scene. HLj, Pat

the composition here, with the two photographers' lit screens and the brightly lit artwork is matchless!

hello Wolfgang.
Now the light here is awesome...The strong orange glow, coupled with the bright sqaures from their cameras, add an eery quality to the shot. The bright colors on the artwork also have an incredible quality. A very well handled photograph.

I go for colors and you brought this well together, the surrounding warm mood towards the brillant statue with the reflection on the ground and on top very pleasant to include those two^photographers in gradiant light up to target, forms a nice three leveled depht, a pleasing photo Wolfgang

Wery well balanced lightning, despite the difficult conditions. The modern art is quite relative itself, I think.

Again! You have Wolfgang, a truly unique signature in photography. Your photos, all of them, have a big "Wolfgang Schanze" written on them, from corner to corner. I just don't know how to describe what I mean though... A unique point of view, that's a sure thing. You often play with different planes. Like here, there is three planes. The human presence is most of the time meaningful. You just don't put people in your photos for the sake of having people there. They always are doing something that gives the meaning to the photo. Like here, they are not just observer, they 'participate' in the photography. They are 'actors', in the sense that they play a role. An important one. Here, it gives the feel that they are seeing art through their camera eyes. And, you are seeing them and the art piece through your own camera. Clever...
Your photos, subjective observations of art and people? You cannot say it better than that!

Hello Wolfgang
I admire the way you have successfully exploited both the lighting of the exhibit and the LCD screens to give us this interesting image of the photographers each taking away a 'piece' of the dress!
Best Wishes Maggie
