L'église de Gignac présente une autre particularité.
Alignés en quinconce, aux pieds d’un sanctuaire bordé de jardins, quatorze chapelles de dévotion s’offrent à la curiosité des visiteurs.
Un chemin caillouteux y conduit, qui invité à la méditation.
En découvrant ces oratoires le visiteur s’interroge : étaient-ils situés sur un chemin de Pèlerinage spirituel ?
La question reste posée, mais il semblerait que la première chapelle ait été construite avant l’an 1672, par les pères Récollets, les autres par des paroissiens.
Les sept dernières chapelles furent érigées dans les années qui suivirent.
C'est une très jolie promenade aux portes de Montpellier.

very nice the presentation of this church of Gignac.Excellent composition with the shadow that spread on the road and we can see the shape of the building.The passing by of the road, create a great perspective and depth of field.Excellent colours and lighting.Very informative your note.Good work.

Hello Jean-Louis,
I like how the eye is taken to the church in the distance by way of these vaults. The lovely sky adds to the appeal of the composition and I also like the shadow in the foreground thrown by the nearest vault. Excellent colours and clarity.

Ces chapelles, que l'on voit très bien de loin, elles balisent, je crois, les stations d'un chemin de croix. Ta phot est très bien construite et n'était pas évidente à faire. Bravo.
