Photographer’s Note

Stavroniketa Monastery, the smallest on Athos, was built ca. 1000 AD. This building (restored and changed a bit) is now used as a guest-house, when there is a lot of visitors and it is not possible to be accomodated in the formal guest-house, inside the Monastery. The snowfall in the winter of 1986-1987 was the heaviest after 1940s.
Photo shot on a slide film, scanned on a flatbed scanner and processed in Photoshop and Neat Image.
