Photographer’s Note

This picture was taken in Verzasca Valley in canton Ticino, southern Switzerland. It shows huge boulders in the upper reaches of Verzasca river, about 20 kilometres north-eastern of Locarno. It's more than refreshing to have a bath here in summer - but Verzasca is a very dangerous stream because of the many eddies and cataracts. This mountain torrent also is very popular to divers. In the whole valley there are big instruction plates with the inscription "So beautiful - but so dangerous!" In the last years there have been a lot of fatal accidents here.
In summer when temperature here comes up to 30°C and more it's very tempting ...
