Photographer’s Note
About:The sunbirds and spiderhunters are very small passerine birds which feed largely on nectar, although they will also take insects, especially when feeding young. Flight is fast and direct on their short wings. Most species can take nectar by hovering like a hummingbird, but usually perch to feed.
Although they are completely unrelated, the sunbirds find counterparts in the hummingbirds of the Americas and the honeyeaters of Australia. The resemblances are due to convergent evolution due to the similar nectar-feeding lifestyle.
The sunbirds are tropical species, with representatives from Africa to Australasia; however, the greatest variety of species is in Africa where the group probably arose. Most species are sedentary or short-distance seasonal migrants.
Like the hummingbirds, they are strongly sexually dimorphic, with the males usually brilliantly plumaged in metallic colours. Sunbirds have long thin down-curved bills and brush tipped tubular tongues, both adaptations to their nectar feeding. Up to three eggs are laid in a purse-shaped suspended nest.

Hello Partha:
Where did you hire this model? I love the gesture of the bird that seems as that he realizes that you are photographing it and looks at you in a challenging attitude, it is one of the best images that I have seen lately ... so much for the composition as for him light and the color.
Congratulations, you are a teacher of the spontaneity.
A greeting.

Hello Partha,
The picture is pleasant to look at and the colours are cheery and bright. Beyond this aspect and although the focus on the bird is good, it is too centered to me. A closer horizontal cropping would make it better to focus on the bird and remove the white spots on the upper part. The picture seems a bit noisy, too (background). For those reasons, I posted a workshop to correct the things I wanted to improve.
Kind regards,
Christian

Hi Partha,
Wonderful closeup of this amazing bird. The colors are strikingly clear and the details to his intricate beak and feathers are stunningly sharp. I also love the bright yellow flower and the wonderfully muted colorful background.
