Photographer’s Note
A closer look at the beach from one of my previous shots 'Cornish Beach'.
Although this shot shows quite a rocky beach, in actual fact as the tide goes out, there is a beautiful sandy beach to enjoy.
The little hut on the slope coming down towards the beach belongs to the Life-guard.Many of the more popular Cornish beaches are guarded in the summer months.
To reach this beach there is quite a steep path to descend, but it is well worth the effort.
Thanks for looking.

Hello Jean, very good POV, sharpness, natural colours. Maybe if the sun was more on the left then shadows would be better.

Hi Jean,
I have to say I really like this shot, two main reasons, one is the striking similarity to a beach here that I visit quite regularly (near the town of Portrush on the North coast), and because of the quality of the shot itself.
It’s a good well-balanced exposure that captures the scene very well, I like the composition, ranging from the harsh and dramatic rocks to the sea and the lush green grass on top of the cliff. Where I feel you have done particularly well is the colour, there are many subtle colours and tones on the rocks for example that are very well displayed. Most importantly though the colours right across the shot are well saturated and strong BUT you have kept them very natural. I’ve mentioned trying to this across a few of my own photos. I think too many people on here whack the saturation up to high and over do it in the pursuit of drama that was never really there rather than getting out and taking a photo because the light was right. A very subtly beautiful photo.
Well done,
Chris

Jean,
You might have sussed from my gallery that I'm in the "never mind the beach - show us the rocks" camp!! So I'm more than happy to gaze upon a bit of beautiful Cornish rock for a bit. In fact it looks like just the sort of place where I'd reel off about 200 photos of no interest to anyone but myself.
As mentioned by critiquer Chris, very natural feel here, good definition in the clouds and the land.
Very nice.
Regards
Colin

Hi Jean,
I love the contrast between the rugged coast and the lovely blue sky. There are some very nice shadows and differing shades. The green hillside adds some life to this beautiful image.

Hello Jean -
Very nice image as it reminds me of the beaches near my home town in northern California. All rock, a bit of sand, a steep cliff, and an angry ocean. For what looks like a mid day image you handled the light very well with rich tones in the rocks and the sky. Well done.
Thank you for sharing
John
