Photographer’s Note
While visiting Mt St. Helens I splurged on a helicopter trip up the Toutle Valley towards Mt St. Helens. On the way I managed to get this shot of Mt. Adams which is another volcano in the Cascade Range. I am not sure if it is in Washington State or Oregon. I did bump the contrast a bit to eliminate some of the haze. My wife and I are off to California today so this maybe my last post for a while.

Hello Phil,
This is a compelling shot of Mt. Adams from the air. The vantage point is ideal, the increase in contrast has worked well for you, although it could stand a bit more. You can also do that selectively, increasing the contrast in some parts and not others.
I took a great shot of Mt. Hood while flying in for a landing in Portland three two years ago. But then the most dramatic came when I shot a photo of the Austrian Alps, and posted it from the plane last November. (Lufthansa has since removed that capability from its flights.)
Warm regards from Virginia,

Hello Phil -
Mount Adams is in Washington and Mount Hood is in Oregon just SE of Portland. I take it this is part of the Mount St Helen's devastation in the FG. Otherwise, a nice image.
Thank you for sharing.

Phil,
Nice shot, the thumbnail doesn't draw you in too well but the photo is very good. The distance over which you are shooting is huge, considering that the color and detail are really great.

Phil, you were overflying here exactly were I was hiking along during a whole day to get as close as possible to the caldera of St. Helens. Mt Adams was unfortunatelly covered most of the time and I missed that view that you got so well here. Quite astonishing contrast between the mountains in the foreground compared to the glorious appearence of Mt. Adams in the background.
Have a good a safe trip, Peter

Hi Phil!
Nice picture with good realistic colors and a beautiful point of view.
Good contrast between the differnet colors and good positioning of the mountain!

Hi Phil,
Great shot from the wirlybird! great details to this barren wasteland. Does look like it is greening up a bit in the lava rich soil.
