Photographer’s Note

I found this view in Galeria do Rock in downtown São Paulo. It is a 5 floor shopping center that only sells alternative stuff.. like punk, skate, rock, military, you name it. It's like stepping into another world with all the people who wants to stick out, say something.

Just outside you'll find this square with an old church who was spared when the new buildings where put here, it's however full of grafitti. Actually you'll find alot of places like this in downtown São Paulo and the vagabonds and the homeless people are crazy about them. They are everywhere, even up in the trees. Really.

Viva a vida. :)

Eric,
Nice shot, nice lighting and color and it shows the efforts to preserve heritage. Too bad about the vandalism on the church, heritage is hard to replace. Good capture,

A great capture!
I like so much the different buildings seen from this mall, not only in architecture, but also in colors.
The silhouettes shown here works great for the composition.

Eu gosto da ideia de pôr o primeiro plano escuro e o fundo, a igreja amarela e os prédios, muito bem iluminados. Assim pode-se ver que as duas coisas se estão misturando, a religião y a cultura punk --embora não completamente.

é uma bela vista de Sampa. Gostei das siluetas contra os edifícios, a cor da igreja rodeada de cinzas, luz muito boa. O único senão que encontrei na imagem foi o fato dos rapazes estarem cobrindo a vista da igreja, estivessem, um pouco mais afastados teria sido melhor. No entanto nem sempre temos a chance de fazer o melhor ângulo e arrancar dos modelos o seu melhor

Hi Eric,

This is a lovely shot. The best part is the POV. I loved the bright beautiful yellow church against the back drop of modern city. The two guys in the front provide human face to the picture.
Great shot.
