Photographer’s Note
The Old Port of Montreal is now a public park and recreation area, but it still keeps impressive remnants of its industrial past, like the enormous "Grain elevator No. 5". Today, visitors can stroll around the concrete buildings, which are surrounded by gardens and the Lachine canal.
In Montreal, keeping such an enormous, now useless structure standing has sparked some debate, between those who say it's important to protect our industrial-era architectural heritage and those who are in favor of "cleaning up", as they say, these ugly ruins...
