Photographer’s Note
A welcome stop on the moorland above the village of Buckden on a ride from Aysgarth to Kettlewell in the Yorkshire Dales. The route (about 28 miles - 45KM for the round trip) traverses beautiful - but hilly countryside. I was to make longer use of this rest stop (and several shorter stops), on my return trip where the 1:5 uphill gradient continues for several miles. However it is a great ride for fit youngsters like myself (60 next month, LOL). There is only one better way to travel this countryside and that is to don walking boots and avoid the roads altogether.

Hello Vic
This is a landscape I know well and this shot captures well the colours and light, as seen under the typically slightly overcast sky.
The bike is an interesting addition but looks somewhat ill at ease perched on the tussocks of grass I would prefer a more natural 'pose' leaning against a wall or similar.
Good composition minimizes the amount of road visible and allows us a good view of the valley.
Best wishes Maggie
PS I see your request for no smileys has been largely ignored. I will take the middle option!

Hola Vic,
Magnífico paisaje el que recorriste y buena toma con buenos estupendos y colores. Aunque me hubiera gustado más si el plano de la bicicleta fuera más pequeño.
De todas formas me gusta y tiene gran calidad.
Saludos cordiales

I know you like honest critique Vic so here goes (just my opinion) I find it hard to look at this fine landscape with the bike stuck there, going by the title the bike is the main focal point but the landscape is far more inviting to the eye. As suggested by another .. maybe the bike needs to be less prominent and smaller propped against a wall etc ... the exposure and sharpness is as usual spot on ..

there's a bit of quaintness i this one, the way you have positioned the bicycle there is truly lovely. gives such a lovely holiday/picnic feel. good view as well

Hi Vic, I couldn't agree more with your note. Walking or cycling are the only ways to go - esp. with a camera. The beauty of the English countryside is well captured in your shot. Great compo with the bike in the foreground and the road behind.
Regards,
Ryno

Might be in need of this more often with the price of crude oil.
Without the bike as foreground the image would be missing that something, nicely positioned and vith a great view. Were is the lunch normally on the rack?
