Contextualizando a fotografia anterior, esta é a Ponte da Arrábida, a última da esquerda para quem olha para o Douro do Porto de Gaia.

No tempo da sua construção em 1963, a ponte tinha o maior arco em betão armado de qualquer ponte no mundo. O engenheiro responsável pelo seu projecto e construção foi Edgar Cardoso.

Esta imagem foi tirada do Palácio de Cristal, entre a vegetação que nos cobria da chuva miudinha que teimava em nos refrescar.

Puting in context the previous picture, this is the Bridge of Arrábida, the last one of the left from the Gaia side.

In the time of his construction in 1963, the bridge had the biggest arch in armed concrete of any bridge in the world. The engineer responsible for his project and construction was Edgar Cardoso.
