Photographer’s Note
The "Columbarium cave" is one of the most spectacular and also one of the oddest. Its form is that of a double cross. A few meters above eye level there are hundreds of small alcoves in the walls. They were for pigeons which were held in ancient times for their milk, meat, and dung, which was used as fertilizer. Because pigeons were cheap, they were widely popular among Jews and pagans as sacrificial animals. After the Greek era these odd dove cots went out of use.
Technique: I used zoom pulling in a long (not very) exposure this is the reason for the movement in the picture, fortunatly at the end there are details that are cleared and this is important for this kind of "photography game".
I am adding WS of this cave without the zoom pulling, I hope that you will like this unusual presentation :-)

Wow, very exciting image. The presence of flourecent lighting definitely takes away from the image of antiquity, but that's not your fault...still, I wonder if it is worth distorting or minimizing in post-processing.

Spectacular & very dynamic picture - as if you were running very fast through the cave. The motion blur really pulls you into this photo and makes it also very graphic. Good idea to add the pic without the 'zoomblur'. Fine & creative job!

Travelling the time. :-) Very good work again David. Your original is nice too. It`s good to see both of them, for comparison.
Regards, Don.

A very interesting idea, Elroyie. I saw it in some old photography technique bools, but never tried it. This long coridor is an excellent place for this trial, and you got a fine trsult. Very well done.

I appreciate your willingness to play with images. This one is very dynamic. I'm reminded of Torben's powerhouse image taken at the front of a moving subway train that shows blurred features running past. Here is a link to that one.

So this is great fun, made even more so by your inclusion of an image of the unusual cave in its natural form. Great work Elroyie, giving the more adventurous among us more ideas with which to play. I have on loan a friend's Digital Rebel with a couple of zoom lenses, so perhaps I'll play as well. ;-)

What an astonishing effect ! Very well done to give us the feeling of movement. A very nice experience given here.
