Photographer’s Note

So I'm finally posting "El Pilar", although I know there are several already on TE.
I've chosen this one taken from the bridge (over the Ebro River) because the Basilica is now having a big work of restoration, so I thought it might be better this way.
The temple we see today dates from the 18th century but it was on the 1st century the Mary talked to Saint James and told him to build the temple in this place
The original church was surely much simpler than this one but it has changed along the history and now El Pilar is considered the biggest baroque church in Spain and a very important one in the Christian world.

Buena perspectiva de "El Pilar", desde uno de los puentes del Ebro. Buen encuadre que nos deja ver un poquito del siguiente puente lo que le da más perspectiva.

it is a very nice "repetition" here. Good POV including the foreground and a wonderful sky as final. Clear and sharp in good light.

excellent composition with a nice POV that make us see "El Pilar"with straight bell towers as the dome too,than can see in so high buildings,so infrequently.The walking man adds live in your photo.The colours,the light and the sharpness are unique.Well done Ana.

Exelente composição Ana. Gosto do homem a caminhar pelo passadiço e o castelo ao fundo. Boas cores, nitidez e profundidade. Pena ver os grafites nas paredes, vejo que isso não ocorre apenas aqui no Brasil.

Bem imponente e grande essa catedral mesmo, pela festa ja dava pra imaginar seu tamanho e beleza. Gostei do senhor caminhando, mas as pichações estragam o ambiente... Vandalismo é um problema em todos os lugares, uma pena...

gostei da construção. Linda basília com detalhes ricos em cada uma das torres. A inclusão do homem caminhando ficou bom!
Pena alguém ter "pichado" os muros logo em frente.

Hi Ana,
Well composed in very fine light. The soft beige hues of the foreground match the colour of the facades of the stately spires very well, and of course contrast well with the blue sky. The person walking warms and enhances the scene, as does his shadow. A pity about the graffiti, though ironically the additional hue and scrawls do not detract from your shot and help fill in the large expanse on the right. Cheers.

luz e cores perfeitas, belo pov. Pena que o personagem se retira da cena, caso estivesse no lado oposto esta imagem seria ainda melhor do que já é.

Iv'e never seen such huge towers than the main dome. Fantastic light that strikes those details even as far from this elevation.

Ana, this is an impressive one, huge structure and undoubtedly even more beautiful that we can see in 2 dimensions. Shame about the graffiti on the wall, just a sign of the times I suppose. Your shot is great, the detail is really fine and the colors are warm. I like the stark hard shadow on the walker it really sets the time of day well. Great capture,

Imposing cathedral and very nice light on it to highlight the features. We can see some beautiful mosaic on the domes. The man is providing scale. For purists, it would have been good if the man was to the right of the frame. But well done!

Greetings Ana! Very strong composition, the church is well placed on the left and the urban buildings in the distant on the right add nice interest to round out the view. The fine architectural details of the church are very clear and well seen.
