Du kannst es nicht lassen ;-) - aber diese Schokoladenseite von Köln ist ja auch wirklich sehenswert. Dieses Nachmittagslicht hat was und wirkt am schönsten im Gitterwerk der Hohenzollernbrücke. Ein eindrucksvolles Foto, das man SO nicht allzu oft sieht.
Glückwunsch zum 400. - und "keep on posting"!

Hi Thorsten, congratulations on another milestone! I don't get to Germany very often, but when I do it is usually to Cologne. And when I stay in Cologne it is normally at the Hyatt Hotel, which is just on the near side of your shot - so this view is very memorable for me.

this is not only your 400th post. It's trully and exceptional lnadscape image. The mix of old and modern architectures and the bridge make this shot a lot attractive. The dof is superb thanks to the f/9 and the sharpness process. Very well done!

Hello,
Beautifull view of the domplatte with a lot of curves that appears every where creating a soft atmosphere for this urban view. Pov is well choosen with the rhin wich creates a nice frame.

Wow Thorsten, nr 400??? Amazing, I just crossed the cape of 50 haha. You chose a great POV with the bridge forming a nice digaonal line towards the cathedral. A very sharp, well composed view of a city actually not that far from where I live. It's inviting to join Cologne for sure!

Absolutely not the B&W version Thorsten (from the big icecreamcone).
This one has beautiful colours but they are not in your face, so it only enhances your 400th upload - my goodness what a work you have done on TE - amazing.
Excellent details and that tower provides a great view.

Hi,
This is a great combination of old and new, your composition is excellent, shows us so much of the town! There is a beautiful soft light, nice soft colours, I particularly like the touch of blue on the right side, the bridge with its intricate details leading to the beautiful cathedral over the river is a cherry on the cake. Superb sharpness. Although I love b/w, I prefer this one, it shows more detail and the b/w is maybe not contrasted enough.

Glückwunsch zu 400 Aufnahmen und genauso danke schön für so viele geteilte Augenblicke. Das Licht hat Dir an dem Tag eine Aufgabe gestellt, aber die hast Du gut gelöst. Mir gefällt, wie sich in der Entfernung die Klarheit auflöst. Gute Wahl des Bildausschnitts mit mehreren interessanten Objekten. Die Kontraste sind in dem Licht schwer zu halten, daher finde ich diese Fassung besser als die Workshopversion, bei der es noch mehr auf die Kontraste ankommt.

Nice shot Thorsten, what is the time span here 300 or more years from the cathedral to the spire and the highrise? I like the hard contrast it works very well here, even the no-color sky seems to fit well into this starkly beautiful scene.

Though a bit late, I you congratulate for your 400 post here.
The POV is fantastic and gives a great depth of image, the setting catches many beautiful elements with a great graphical strenght, and the architecture that we can see is magnificent.
The contrast between the Cathedral, the bridge, the tower and the skyscraper is specially interesting, I like the different geometries of these buildings.

Hallo Thorsten,

Tolle Aufnahme. Ich weiss nicht wie Du das geschafft hast. Ein schoenes Panorama der Noerdlichen Altstadt. Die Basilika St. Gereon, St. Ursula, und St. Kunibert sind leicht erkennbar. In der ferne sogar der Dampf von einem Kraftwerk. Manche wueden sagen das Bild ist nicht klar genug, aber ich meine so ist eben das Wetter in Koeln. Als komposition klappt es hier gut besonders wegen den diagonales linien der Hohenzollernbrueke und dem Hauptbahnhof.
