Photographer’s Note

The main attraction of the parish of Porto Moniz are its natural pools, in the town. The Living Sciene Centre, with an auditorium and a "cyberzone" and an aquarium housed by the Fort of Sao Joao Baptista (18th century), in addition to the hotel park, are its most modern infrastructures. The Agricultural and Cattle Fair of Porto Moniz takes place in its pastures. This is a yearly event, which in addition to animals, includes diverse agricultural and dairy products of Madeira. It lasts for three days and is the biggest fair in this part of the island.
