Descending towards the Lake Garda ...

I took this shot yesterday from the peak of the Monte Stivo (2054 m). The Lake Garda is the biggest lake in Italy. It lays at the southern foothills of the Alps, at 65 m above sea level. In the pic you can see mainly the northern end of the lake, on the right the city of Riva del Garda.

Great shot with the hikers framed in the FG grass, with the vast misty mountains and Lake below.

A fantastic view here, amazing to see that this photo was taken yesterday! This photo is just great. I would really like to hike here but it seems to be too steep for us. Are there any means of transport up to these altitudes?

Buon punto di vista e un'immagine piacevolmente composta! Mi piace sempre vedere le nubi che abbracciamo le montagne e i laghi. L'immagine dà una buona impressione di questo luogo selvaggio e incontaminato. Ottima la prospettiva.

Hallo Günther!
Dieses Bild ist atemberaubend schön - vor allem für einen "Mittelgebirgler". So eine Stimmung habe ich noch nicht erlebt. Die Personen und die hintereinander aufgereihten Bergketten ergeben hier eine "unendliche" Tiefe. Und ich stecke hier seit über einer Woche unter Hochnebel und Wolken ... ;-)
Ein wunderschönes Foto!!!

blissful use of aerial perspectives
the rippling away of the tonal range with the foreground interest hinting that is the way to go
a view like this can only be really felt ..on the way down!
usually i am puffing and mopping my brow on the way up
lighting is superb

leider war nicht soo gute Fernsicht sont könnten wir noch merh details von den Bergen sehen aber trozdem ein klasse Bild

gefällt mir sehr gut...ein Blick auf die im Hintergrund liegenden Berge mit toller Stimmung und unheimlich gutem Licht...am Gardasee würde ich sofort Urlaub machen;-)

I just love all the multiple layers of the background mountains in this, Guenther, and the hikers disappearing below the foreground ridge helps to accentuate the tremendous depth you have captured in this photograph. A small criticism: I think this is tilted slightly to the left looking at the layers of clouds at the top. Cheers . . . David

das Bild ist einfach super! Die Berge im Hintergrund trennen sich durch unterschiedliche (bläuliche) Farbentiefe, während die Motive im Vordergrund in satten Farben leuchten. Man kann hier eigentlich von zwei zusammengeschobenen Fotos reden, beide von ihnen sind prima. Ich gratuliere Dir!

A breathtaking view and a fantastic shot! The composition is
very good and the hikers add an extra "dimension" to the photo. All the mountain ridges in several layers and with changing shades of colors give the photo an amazing depth. The colors are also very good from the foreground to the distance. Bravo!
