Photographer’s Note

Today I have the pleasure of presenting my photo number 400. It is incredible since I could have come to this number!, because when I initiated my publications here, on January 18, 2006, I was not thinking of reaching it. With your critiques and your commentaries I have learned to improve very much my photographic skill, and also you have showed many details of the post processing.

Thank you very much to all of you, my friends!

My first photo in T.E. was a night capture of the Manhattan's skyline, and to celebrate this 400 I have returned to my files of my trip to NY in 2005 to present this composition of my favourite building in that wonderful city: the Chrysler Building.

I want to dedicate this photo to one of my favourites photographers in T.E. that also is a lover of New York and that he confesses that the Chrysler also is his favourite building Photo65Net

Information:
The Chrysler Building is a skyscraper located in Manhattan, New York. Completed in 1930, and designed by William Van Allen, it is a distinguished symbol of New York, reaching 319 m. Is placed in the intersection between the 42nd street and Lexington Avenue, and it was originally built for Chrysler Corporation. It was constructed in an average pace of 4 floors for week, and no worker died in the construction.

The Chrysler Building is also possibly the best example of the Art Deco period in the architecture of New York, which was emphasized as probably the most beautiful period of the development of the buildings in this city.

Hoy tengo el placer de presentar mi foto número 400. ¡Es increíble como he podido llegar a esta cifra!, ya que cuando inicié mis publicaciones aquí, el 18 de enero de 2006, ni pensaba en alcanzarla. Con vuestras críticas y vuestros comentarios he aprendido a mejorar mucho mi técnica fotográfica, y también me habéis enseñado muchos detalles de post procesado.

Mi primera foto en T.E. fue una toma nocturna del skyline de Manhattan, y para celebrar esta 400 he vuelto a mis archivos de mi viaje a NY en 2005 para presentar esta composición de mi edificio favorito en aquella maravillosa ciudad: el Chrysler Building.

Quiero dedicar esta foto a uno de mis fotógrafos favoritos en T.E. que también es un enamorado de New York y que confiesa que el Chrysler también es su edificio favorito Photo65Net

Información:
El Chrysler Building es un rascacielos ubicado en Manhattan, Nueva York. Completado en 1930, y diseñado por William Van Allen, es un distinguido símbolo de Nueva York, alcanzando los 319 m. Está situado en la intersección entre la calle 42 y Lexington Avenue, y fue originalmente edificado para Chrysler Corporation. Fue construido en un ritmo promedio de 4 plantas por semana, y ningún trabajador murió en la construcción.

El Chrysler Building es también posiblemente el mejor ejemplo del período de Art Deco en la arquitectura de Nueva York, que fue destacado como quizá el período más hermoso del desarrollo de los edificios en esta ciudad.

Meus parabéns pelo seu post nº400, espero um dia chegar nessa marca também, com a mesma qualidade de suas fotos. Esse prédio é bem bonito mesmo e tem uns detalhes arquitetônicos interessantes, como seu afunilamento, que era uma norma na época. Uma bela foto!

ah, the great NYC :) just a bit more to the left and you'd see the building I currently live in (or may be not, I guess the NY University Hospital gets in the way), the stair-like building that you've cropped on the left is just outside my windows :) incidentally, I recently posted this photo of that building :)

that said, my congratulations on the 400th shot, and an excellent one - love the crowded cityscape and how it contrasts with the clear blue sky. perfect shot of this magnificient building. thanks for sharing and have great next 400 posts :)

Hola,
felicidades por tus 400 fotos, una galeria impresionante. Y esta foto no falla. Los rascacielos son siempre esteticos, pero en esta foto me encanta el contraste que hay entre las estructuras colosales de los edificios, con lineas directas, y la textura algodonosa y ligera de las nuves.

Une vue typique sur NY mais une fois de plus bien cadrée, j'aime beaucoup le format et le contraste des couleurs entre tous ces buildings. Le ciel bleu et ces petits nuages de beau temps valorisent bien la composition, bravo Josep, JB sera ravi.

Wow, already 400?!?!? Congratulations, Josep. I became a member almost 6 months before you and this number is still far away for me...It's a fantastic image focusing on a detail of manhattan with the most beautiful skyscrapper at sight. A vertical composition for many vertical paralelipedic volumes...It's allways impressive to observe this amount of construction in just one place. I'm sure that if we count, there's more than 400 floors in there ;-)

Mis felicitaciones por tu foto original numero 400 en TE, porque debes de tener unas 400 o mas en forma de WS. La verdad que eres una persona muy especial para mi y muchos de los que estamos en TE, tu me has enseñado con tus excelentes fotografias y tus magnificas criticas a mis fotos de una manera desinteresada cantidad de cosas que la verdad no sabia. Os meus sinceros parabens por esta numero impressionantes de 'posts' no TE, não só pela qualidade e interesse dos mesmo, mas também pela tua dedicação e cordialidade.
Quanto à foto, gosto da verticalidade que abunda na fotoe também dos detalhes de arquitectura.
As cores fortes são tipicamente cores 'sony' e ficam aqui muito bem.

Belle photo pour cette 400eme vous avez fait fort, très grande netteté, couleurs sublimes, détails époustouflants, Bon POV, superbe buildings en grands nombres, bonne idée la photo en hauteur. Un peu dommage que l' on voit le bouton sur le nez de la femme du quatrième building, cinquante quatrième étages, 12 eme appartement, mais vu la grande netteté de votre photo, c' est un peu normal d' apercevoir ce genre de détails. Merci de poster tant de photo qui sont un régal pour nos yeux. Félicitation pour votre 400eme et au plaisir des 400 suivantes.

Bravo pour la 400 e Josep, je me souviens toujours de la mienne. Une vue symbolique avec ce building et sa grandeur.
Une photo tout en verticales , y compris le format.
Les lumières étaient bonnes ce jour là, le ciel radieux.
On se retrouve bien avant la 500e.

Lo primero felicitarte por las 400, espero que sean muchas más y que todos las podamos disfrutar, porque aunque no pueda criticar todas tus fotos no suelen quedarse sin ser observadas detenidamente mientras las disfruto.

Fotografiar Nueva York es siempre algo especial, todos sus edificios poseen algo mágico que se puede sentir al observarlos, esta imagen es una buena muestra de ello, un gigantesco mosaico lleno color y formas geométricas y que sin embargo parece una ciudad en miniatura creada con las fichas de Lego, composición cuidada al máximo donde el Chrysler Building se ve majestuoso por encima de todos los demás, un buen trabajo.

Hola Josep,
Uno ve muchas buenas fotos de NY, pero no es tan frecuente que sean tan bien logradas como esta. Que decir?! Me parece perfecta! Compo, colores, luz... En el medio de todas esas torres, lograste que que el topo edificio Chrysler se destaque muy bien.
Felicitaciones por alcanzar ese numero tan respetable de 400 posts!

Congrats on reaching 400 and very close to reaching 20,000 points too, ( I know we are not supposed to care about that but I figure if someone has that many points that they are someone I can learn alot from in most cases so I watch for points myself)
I do like your shot of the city, its most impressive, the photo and the city, taken from a excellent pov and the color saturation is perfect. Nice ( but I'll take country living thanks! :o)

Great clarity of colors an impeccable detail, especially in those great clouds, make this well-framed photo a worthy #400. I especially like the the Chrysler building dominates the skyline,and that bit of the bay.

Fantastica esta fotografia, celebratoria de las 400. La elijo para que me de suerte y pueda realizar otras con tan buen nivel, mañana por fin vuelo a N.Y.
La fotografia tiene un detalle impresionante, color precioso con un buen contraste a ese luminoso cielo. Gran foto.

A very well chosen pov to smartly compose this magnificent view of Manhattan! Sharpness is pretty suitable to the image, exposure is correct and colors are beautiful! The visual impact on me was very good since the thumbnail and this image is impressively nice, translating into image the real spirit of that giant city!

buena fotografia, me gusta mucho el sitio desde donde la tomaste, me gusta porque de entre todos esos altos edificios que de por si no dicen mucho destaca el Chrysler, creando una gran composicion, el cielo estaba perfecto ese dia, gran trabajo!

He visto esta foto en tus "destacadas", y me gusta mucho la composiciòn y los colores!
A mi tambien, el Chrysler rascacielo , me gusta mejor que todos los otros! Pienso que es muy original y elegante la cima, el techo? o los ultimos cinco pisos!
Pero, me habria gustado ver un poco mas del Hudson!
Congratulaciones con retraso por tu foto 400! Hace mucho tiempo ora, y prosegues ser muy activo su TE!

És una foto arquitectònicament molt densa de gratacels, i al mateix temps molt cromàtica, destacant la "joia de la corona" el Chrysler. M'agrada molt.
