Combien de films ou téléfilms mettent en scène cette atmosphère, avec le bateau arrivant de Staten Island ?
Combien de fois cette vue est-elle devenue un cliché ?

Et j'y étais. Dans le cliché. Dans l'image de cinéma...

Tellement étrange, tellement étonnant.

(Et je ne parle même pas des Chips de la mer !!!).

J'aime beaucoup cette photo, simple mais ce gros cargo rouge en premier plan contraste super bien avec la ville un peu effacée dans la pollution urbaine.

C'est vrai qu'on se croirait dans un film américain et cette vue de New york fait tellement envie...J'apprécie tout particulièrement la légère brume qui enveloppe la ville en contraste avec le bateau si net, le mouvement donné par les flots est sympa lui aussi.
C'est typique mais c'est aussi ça qu'on vient chercher à New York...

I like the subdued colors on the city scape and the bright colors on the boat.

Jolie vue de la "big apple".
Une vue qui rend bien la pointe de manhattan. Le ferry apporte un peu de couleur dans la compo.
Bien vu !
Mais c'est vrai ... On a toujours l'impression de se ballader dans un film quand on circule dans NY!
Et quand on rentre ... on se repasse tous les films ... Mon préféré ... Die Hard 3

C'est bien construit et bien post traité. Il y a un fort contraste entre le ferry et les buildings dans le fond. Cela donne l'impression que l'image est sur deux plans différents.
C'est très bien vu!!

Ah this is good. I love it!
Like the others, something we know so well without even seeing it for real, but here i like the way the city in the background is covered in.... smog?
and the ferry is so bright and colorful, making it stand out very well.

Je regarde ton image en me disant que cette ville ultramoderne avant fait maintenant un peu demodee face aux megalopoles asiatiques. Ce pourrait presque etre un village face a la baie de Hong Kong par exemple.
Joli le contraste avec cette tache de couleurs

Salut Stephane,
Un classique ca le ferry voguant devant la skyline, par contre bizzarre dans mes souvenirs ils etaient plutot jaunes... faut dire que ca fait 10 bonnes annees que j'ai plus mis les pieds aux States...
En tout cas compte tenu des conditions un peu brumeuses ca fait une touche de couleur qu'on ne peut pas louper !

J'aime beaucoup l'effet de relief entre le premier plan formé par ce ferry et cette forêt de buildings sous cette légère brume. Les contrastes sont très nets et ton traitement est du plus bel effet. Une ambiance bien rendu, bravo Stéphane.

Bonsoir Stéphane,
la couleur orange du ferry de Staten Island, se soulignant sur les buildings magnifiques du Financial District sous le brouillard, est une scène parfaite pour évoquer la belle ville de New York.
J'avoue que dans mon premier voyage à cette ville, j'ai pu sentir la même chose qui tu dis dans ta note, ce qui j'avais vu tant de fois dans des films, en TV, je le vivais personnellement. Et cette sensation indescriptible je peux la sentir dans cette photo. Parfaite lumière, bonnes couleurs et une profondeur d'image excellent.

It's indeed a cliché, but who cares? Maybe it is a bit because of it that the image is so appealing, evoking many memories of what we saw in TV and films. The brownish grey haze gives it a very "dark urban atmosphere" and has the effect of making the ferry stand up.

Une bonne compo avec ce batrau decentré qui ressort bien sur fond urabain legerement brumeux qui met encore plus l'accent sur le navire. Ce que tu dis a propos du paysage est juste.. on connait certains endroits, sans y avoir mis les pieds!

Superb couple of cliché images. I might even like more the WS, because of the dynamic FG and the more distant mirage of the well known skyline. Still, this tighter framing is also brilliant with a very effective contrast of that orange with the amazing urban scenery.

A great different between the great boat andthe small bot to the right.
The sky line of the big city in the misty care for a dark atmosphere, precise of you coming in a great dark inferno, but I like your composition absolutely.

Salut Stephan, there's indeed a strange thing about being at this kind of famous places......and sometimes you just have to go with the flow and get inside the cliché, also because that can be done in your own characteristisc way - like here: the darkish tones of Manhattan in the mist set of by the brighy yellow colour spot of the ferry. Very enjoyable work.

Je suis d'accord avec toi: se retrouver soi-même dans un endroit que l'on a rêvé tant de fois est une chose très étrange et très émouvante, je trouve. J'aime la manière dont tu rends dans ta photo cette part de rêve et de réalité, le rêve (la ville, le décors immuable) est un peu dans la brume, la réalité (le bateau) de celui qui arrive est net et coloré. Petit à petit, en approchant, le décors se fera de + en + net et deviendra enfin réel!
Bravo c'est très bien fait!

Stéphane, j'adore toutes tes nouvelles photos que je viens de découvrir, contrairement à ce que tu écris celle-ci ne fait pas tellement cliché à mon avis - en tous les cas tu y as mis du tien, c'est certain et c'est celle qui m'a attirée en 1er, avec le contraste de couleurs ; ton WS est très chouette aussi !

On voit bien ici tous les styles d'architectures qui se sont succédés au fil des décénnies, mais à chaque fois imposants.
Une brume qui allourdit l'atmosphère.
