Photographer’s Note
The entrance to the famous Majorelle Garden
(a botanical garden designed in 1924 by the French artist Jacques Majorelle). The design and the combination of colours, as well as the huge collection of unusual plants and garden furniture make it a unique place. It is worth-mentioning that a special shade of bold cobalt blue which the artist used extensively in the garden and its buildings is named after him, Majorelle bleu.
The garden has been open to the public since 1947. Since 1980 the garden has been owned by Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Bergé.
