Photographer’s Note
Street shooting... ya right!
[Better to read the previous note first.]
Here is the result of my tries at street photography. Oh! What a result, isn’t it!
Why on earth people in the streets are smiling facing guys like Polonaise with his camera aimed at them? Or NinaL? Or bantonbuju? Why do they throw snowballs at me? What do I do wrong? I am a charming person, I swear! Then, why? Do I have to be Polish or what???
I renounce! I’m done with street shooting!
:))))
Anyway, two posts in a row... uff! I might as well take a long break! :))

My first question: did your camera survive?;))
Like this aggressive (in all meanings of the word;)) red here, contrasts well with the almost monochrome rest of the frame...

i ...think you are a bit polish, claire...;-))) for obvious reason - white and red are our national colours...and used these colours here extensively..:-))
polonaise says that it's enough to show your friendly smile to people on the streets...i'd say - you just say SOMETHING NICE to them and they woill appreciate it...
you do it, claire, you do it perfectly as you ar THIS KIND of a person - with a gentle soul...
ll the best to you...

Stay away from people, they ain´t no good. Especially during wintertime, when they are looting the cities, hungry, freezing, always ready to attack... ;))
At least it seems that you escaped this time!!!

And now the second one.
Happy photo. As precisely it should be a photo from people who play with the first snow.
The most I like is his eye view. I think he is happy that you will have the snow ball on your face. I don't want to ask you what happened with the camera. I hope it survived.
I wish you a nice winter Claire.

As long as the equipment was safe I reakon this is a wonderful shot. Yes he does have a wicked eye and she is just daring you to take the shot. Oh dear me thinks she was quite serious. Still at least it was only a snow ball I got a whole heap of stones in Ladahk. Some just don't like it, just become a bit more sneaky cos thats a damn fine photo.
Oh and what on earth do you want to polish anyway?

Hello Claire,
Another great winter shot from Montreal, accompanied by a most engaging note. George (Polonaise) might provoke snowballs, but I cannot imagine most others would. (Sorry, George!)
And since you remarked on my photograph, a Tribute to Luciano Pavarotti, I must tell you that as I write this, I am listening to a Christmas concert of the "Three Great Tenors." Luciano himself is singing "Nesin Dorma." What voice.
Warm regards from Virginia,

LOL LOL LOL
Not only the picture is the most charming 'street shooting' I've seen in my entire life but, the note…
The note !!!
Not only people don’t smile by seeing you dear, but… They have that sadistic pleasure in their eyes (see the guy in the back ???)…
The answers are quite simple:
1. You, with your 150 cm. of height and weight about 55 kilos… You over towering them…
Pure, sheer intimidation takes place… They are scared and they turn into aggression towards you…
2. You’re not Polish and this is the most serious flaw (!!!)
3. Real street photographer doesn’t aim his camera…
Some of those flaws of yours, can be easily corrected… I.e: shorten yourself, or lose some weight…
Becoming Polish is much more difficult… Nobody in Poland will adopt French, very aggressive woman ( who doesn’t drink !!!)
But… You may change your name to:
Klara Szczebrzeszczyniecka !!!
Under normal situations it should work quite well…
Not aiming your camera…???
That’s really difficult, dear…
You see… Real street shooter releases the button out of blue skies , randomly and mostly – just for the bloody heck of it !!!
(How to logically explain the silly results of such random shooting of… whatever – that’s the homework for him - later on…)
Never aiming at anything !!!!
I tried the trick myself… I couldn’t do it…
Therefore I can’t help you on that…
There are only very, very few masters of the hip shooting art…
Not an easy thing… Trust me…
So I guess… You have to abandon the idea of street shooting and leave it to the most accomplished ones…
(Buying a camera that makes better pictures may help a bit…)
Two days – two pictures …!!!
Wow… Kind’a record on TE ?????
………………….
Can’t help it…
Love these pictures of yours…
They are so NORMAL !!!!!
(Possibly… The most difficult, dreadful task a photographer can face… Produce a NORMAL photography).
I know… I’ve tried that too… No satisfying results so far…
…………………

Amicalement

Intéressante trilogie, j'imagine la suite ....
J'apprécie cette ambiance de bonne humeur.

Eh! Eh! Love the hidden smile on the back. Now, this is the ultimate proof that you're indeed a very good looking woman. If not, how can you explain why this red feline is protecting her male with such ferocity? Just look at her face. She is both blown by your sensuality behind the camera and at the same time trying to restrain a look of fear that would tell you she has lost the beauty contest. It's a great photo!

hahaha, you really are a monster after all, Claire. Thanks for showing that hidden part of you. Don't give up now! Just post 10 in a row. Just try it. I want to see the result. I'm sure it won't take that long to prepare. If you prepared 2 posts in 5 days, you can do 10 in 25 days, right?
Funny to see that She's the boss here. She's the one that takes care of business, protects him. She's the one that protects family. What about he? He hiddes behind her! Or may be she felt threatened by your beauty and he's enjoying the moment - I can feel that he's secretely smilling behind that coat ;-)
You are in the right path, Claire. Don't give up now. I want to see more double posts from you. Some stress in life is good ;-) Gosh, you were more active than me this weekend and I'm in the active season!

Hey...I had on older lady call me sick the other day. I mean, me...I'm not sick at all...'sniffle'
Maybe it didn't help so much that she just watched me take a photo of a Hooters girl. Listen, I was walking by the Hooters restaurant and noticed an attractive lady sitting in the window with brilliant lighting cast all over...I mean, it was artistic! I bet it'll be a good shot when it's developed...I'll show her, she only wishes she could wear short orange shorts with shiny leggings.
SO, I feel your pain...don't give up though...that's the best stuff. Get them to come to you. Best advise is to act really crazy when they get near...well, after you've taken the shot of course. Or click then smile...it always works for me. Especially this weekend when I was getting quite close to people.
Anyhow...a marvellous coupling with the last shot. Quite the diabolical troop of snow-slingers. Again the winter season is truly brought home to me with your snowy posts.
As Louis Armstrong would say,
"Red beans and ricely yours"

Dobry wieczor, Klara Szczebrzeszynska !!!
;)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Bises, Grazyna.

Hi Claire,
And I was so sure I knew that red coat from another snow shot. Funny to see the other one that I already commented. :-)
Haha, not a street shooting fan??!! :-D

Hello Claire. An interesting shot. But the most important is, it shows the joy in photographing. Photographs is a thing of the head AND the heart, it is a pleasure, a hobby. Therefore this color-glad photo pleases me very well. It is full lives and emotion. Very beautifully and worth seeing. Best regards, Wolfgang.

But Claire, of course you're a charming target, er, I mean person! Maybe too charming--if you're a bit gruff (or Polish--is that the same thing?) and businesslike, then people assume you're some professional going about her business. But if you seem charming and nice, then it's a game, and "revenge" will be extracted! So work out extra hard at the gym to bulk up, practice looking tough (maybe a cigarette hanging from the corner of your mouth, or at least a hint of a sneer) and get back out there with your camera! The picture is great--I like how the man hides behind the woman and lets her be on the "front lines" in this great battle. Have a great weekend, regards, Ken.

Hi Claire,
well I do like a lot your Street Pic! I understand your plight and I would have been scared for the camera...but its so bright, the expressions on their faces are worth a bit of a scare, actually I think the lady is almost posing : ? :-))), great that red/black/white dominance, there is fun and life here, love those snow flakes coming down, not seen any here yet...
I take the opportunity to wish you a very very Happy New Year and many more street images:-)
Best regards
TFS
Michèle,

You're cheating us!!
70mm... they weren't so close you and they couldn't throw you snowballs.
Hi Claire.
I love the whole scene and how that woman and that man take part of the photo.

Maybe this was not the Polonaise-ish result you were seeking, Claire, but it has a character all of its own - the vibrant red and black colours against the winter backdrop makes the two figures almost jump out of the frame The DOF is perfect.
This is a great street shot - Claire style :)
Cheers . . . David
