Photographer’s Note
What is she searching for? This young Tibetan woman has walked hundreds of kilometers prostating to the ground with every new step to reach this place, the sacred Jokhang Temple, the holiest place in Lhasa. After the fall harvest, thousands of pilgrims walk from every corner of Tibet to participate in the Kora around the temple creating a scene so powerful and humbling that photographs and words cannot begin to describe it.

Hi Michael, your photo and your note really impress me a lot. Beautiful expression in the woman´s face, faith, doubt, exhaustion... Congratulations, Johannes

The light on her face is excellent, Michael, however, IMO, a change of POV would have also included the other worshippers or a change of apreture would have set them in a lovely bokehed zone.

Hello Michael,
The look of the woman's face and her position are very striking, but most of all I like the colours and the light in this picture.

Gert

Great compo and great light but the red t-shirt take too much attention. Reduce the light on it, to focus only the attention on the first woman in foreground.

Hi Mike, I agree entirely with Elaine that the image would have benefit from a bokehed background. The image is great though and a very good choice of your subject. The light on her face is almost from a higher kind. Incredible what these people do; must be a special experience to take part of this. Sabine

hi Michael. Every person with a different opinion and advice. Here is mine: I do not mind the bright shirt nor the other people. If anything, the other two individuals add to the humbling experience you mention- the person in red through his/her strained expression; the girl in the middle, through her absolute prostration before the divine and the girl closest to us, through her life energy (accentuated by the light, expression and even the "happy" patterns on her shirt.) Top stuff. Regards. Klaudio.

I like everything about this picture. The expression on her face speaks volumes about her faith. The light works exceptionally well in framing her face. Nice job!!

Hi Michael - fantastic perspective here with the low light casting those shadows on the pavement below the people praying. Like how you captured one looking up, while the others are bowed down, to give a sense of the movement they are undertaking.

It is nice pic, which is describing the power of belief and religion in somebody's life...
Additionally well done pic. I like the frame and the gradient effects around the pic; it sharpens the foreground - the woman. Good colors, PoV, light and the subject.
Regards from Poland,
Michal
