Street banquet Photo

Photographer’s Note

During the Miao festival in Xijiang, the hosts were invited to a huge street banquet. It was set up in a record time while everybody was watching dancers performing on main square. During the banquet, some women in charge of the rice wine would come up to important guests and sing in Chinese "you want to drink, just drink it ; you don't want to drink, you still have to drink it" . No need to say that after an hour or so, the party atmosphere was at it's peak.
A Chinese bloke turned towards me and shouted the foreigner(myself) hadn't drunk anything. I was forced to drink (bottom's up) 5 bowls of rice wine. That's maybe why all the photos taken afterwards were a bit blurry.

you've captures an interesting scene of daily life, I like the table here is some kind of guiding line inside the picture. Also, very funny Photographer's Note :)

It is a big table to gather a lot of people. Be sure I would like to be among all you living the moment. All the preparation to the banquet is very original.

Bonjour Warren,
Voila une perspective fort appetissante a l'heure ou le dejeuner approche, ce cadrage vertical va bien avec la profondeur de cette perspective gastronomique, il aurait aussi ete interessant d'essayer un cadrage avec la persoective sur la diagonale, ca confere plus de dynamisme a l'image. Bon allez un petit verre d'alcool de riz pour feter ca !
