Photographer’s Note
Flakstad, Flakstadøya, Lofoten.
The Norwegian sea and its waves seen from a beach near Flakstad (Skagsanden) in mars. The colours of the sea fit well with the snowy background. Flakstad in the background.

Hello Samuel,
This is beautiful. The wave was captured in good contrasting details. The V-Shaped snow-capped mountains adds perspective to this composition. Brilliant clarity and contrasting image.

Hi Samuel!
Very fine capture of the waves and their colors!
The wave also "makes" the composition to me, together with the mountains shaping a V in the background.
Well done in this kind of weather, I know this light can be difficult do get good pictures from.

Hello
I feel sometimes that I under-use a feature of TE, and that is 'favourites' I will put this with mine. I have never been north of Scotland, but when I think of these areas of the world, your picture is a wonderful representation of my 'minds eye' I love it.
I may be wrong here, it feels slightly right-tilted, but this may be just a trick of the eye.

HI Samuel. Absolutely sensational sea capture! I like the white response of the waves to the snow on the mountains. Great! Tibo

Hello Samuel,
I like the shape of the hills with their graphic contrasting grey and white colours, but what really makes it for me is the colours and texture of the sea. The white of the foam seems to mirror the snow on the hills and the larger wave creates a very pleasing curve that leads the eye into the background.
I agree with Martin that there seems to be a slight tilt but I think that's mainly due to the shape of the strip of beach in the midground and therefore difficult to avoid. You could try rotating left a little to see if that helps.
Anyway it's a very striking and effective shot that conveys very well the sensation of a nordic winter.
Well done!

Very well done. The little bit of brown land contrasts well against the waves and mountains.
Out of smileys. Later.

Bonjour Samuel,

Cool, I love how the foreground waves perfectly mimic the snowcovered mountains in the background. Yet another shot proofing how good bad weather suits Norway :-)

An absolutly breathtaking picture. There is a sort of strength to this picture, it really is quite remarkable...

Really a frozen, artic landscape.
I like the sea and the mountains have more or less the sme colors and pattern of white and grey.
The wave gives some dynamicity to the scene. Really a beautiful picture

I like the colors, composition, and most of all the subject matter. Very beautiful. Only sugeestion would be to adjust the tilt slightly CCW.

Samuel, great photo. I am particularly impressed by the colours; it is so good that you have not increased the saturation- it makes this photo much more believable. I know this area well as I come from northern Norway.

What an interesting photo - the pattern of white on the waves is so similar to that on the mountains, that it looks as if the water has actually frozen to ice in the shape of the wave, and then snow has fallen on top of it.
Cheers,
Jordan
