Hm, I dont get the title nor the note, late for what? Why humorous? Have I lost my sense of humor? :))
I like the pavement all around, the spirit of old can be felt everywhere, I miss a human presence in the distance, that would made it perfect for me. Nice job, it looks good.

Hello Bruce,
The top of your shot and your title let me imagine this was taken at night.
But the other part of the photo is quite clear, so I am quite perplex.
Anyway, I like B&W treatment which shows these old stones with vey nice contrasts.

un paesino medievale! Evviva! è come essere a casa!
A parte l'entusiasmo "professionale", mi piace un sacco il puntro di vista così basso sulla scala e l'effetto lucido della pavimentaziona (scivolosa): sei stato grande con la luce.
Levami una curiosità... ma quella porta così chiare era illuminata dal tramonto o da un lampione?
