Day 21: Waterton National Park, Alberta, Canada
I have visited Waterton National Park few years ago but since it is one of my favourite places, I decided to drive there being in the neighborhood. Glacier NP and Waterton NP are actually combined to be the first International Peace Park ever (it was established back in 1932). In reality this doesn’t really show, though. You have to pay entrance for both parks separately.
What can I say? This place is still so beautiful. I would love to spend much more time there someday – would like to see it during the winter as well. The building in this photo is the same Prince of Wales Hotel that I photographed back in 2005 but this time I was able to climb higher without being interfered by black bears.

You are right, Marko, this certainly is a beautiful place. Your image is technically excellent in all respects. At first I wasn't sure that I liked the hotel being right in the middle. I thought maybe that the rule of thirds would be well applied here, and you should have composed this with the hotel off-centre. However, after looking at it for a while I think I do like it in the middle - it sort of gives the image more punch. Cheers . . . David

Black bears?!?
This is almost a photography-handbook-grade picture. Sharpness, noise, saturation, are SO wonderful, I have no words. I really like it. I like it so much that I can't even say you made a mistake by putting the subject hotel in the middle of the frame, because the picture works perfectly anyway. Really a good job.

Hi Marko:
Great job at shooting a much-photographed location. Your lighting is really nice here, which contributes to the great clarity--a lot of shots from here are shot into the sun, creating a lot of haze. Colors are quite nice as well. Good job.

Marko,
You were lucky to be there on such spectacular day. Perfect weather with just a few clouds to add some interest to the sky. You’re location allow you take picture of the overall landscape including the hotel. When I was there it was cloudy and not very clear. I decided I focus more the architecture of the hotel rather than the hazy landscape. I may post some of what I have of it later
Thank for you comment and sorry to disappointed you mate, just not a great day for photo.
