Photographer’s Note

The photo here present was taken at Nakiska Ski Resort,in Kananaskis.
Cloudy in the morning,gorgeous in the afternoon;never trust the weatherman:)
As the raw photo was very well exposed,nothing special in Photoshop about this one.The usual stuff: blacks,whites and grays following the recipe.
I hope you will find this "refreshing";)

Hi Nelu, very nice, crisp shot. When you say black, whites, greys, did you do some selective de-saturation? I'm looking at this and seeing a beautiful blue sky, with greyish hills and trees. Even the skier is in grey, except his cap, which is yellow and stands out against the rest of it. In any case, I'm liking what I see, it's a great composition, the light is good, and I like the textures seen in this one.

I like this view, very sharp moutnais and good light coming from the side. The image quality is really good and so is the composition. The colours look a little flat to me though.

Hello Nelu,

Superb angle in this shot, giving us a sense of the slope of the hill, but having that straight horizontal anchored by the mountain range. I like the positioning of the skier in the lower quadrant of this scene, but part of me dislikes (for it draws the eye to close to the foreground) and likes (as it leads the eye down to the skier from the sky thru the trunk) the tree. Excellent lighting on the trees and the snowcapped mountains.

Great sharpness and depth of (ski!) field in this shot: the coldness is certainly 'refreshing'! You could really impress me if you said you were skiing whilst taking this shot!!
