Photographer’s Note

Durbar Square (Royal square) is the beating heart of Kathmandu. On this square are no fewer than 50 temples and other religious monuments, most of them no less than 3 or 4 hundred years old. The oldest temple dates from the 12th century.
The square is above all a meeting place. It's an all day coming and going of street vendors, beggars and pilgrims. This lady gave us a memorable welcome on the square with her beautiful smile. Ingrid.
