Photographer’s Note

a morning just like all mornings where everyone is in a rush trying to go to work on time. delays have been inevitable due to weather conditions. snow falling at findikli park Kabatas - Istanbul february 18 2008.and for your info the statue has been made by Mimar Sinan university students a couple of years ago.and beneath the snow and fog, across is sea which you cant realize probably.

My apologies for my ignorance but i never realized that Istanbul could have so cold winters with lots of snow. I have to learn more about your country. Looking at your photo it appears that is was snowing at that moment you took the shot. Correct? The POV is good and the colours very real for such light. Well done.

Hi Emre,
Nice capture ... I can see the snow falling. This scene actually proves that spectacular photos can be achieved even on worse weather conditions. The contrast here is spot on. Well composed! tfs

I am not surprised already. On Hungary today 18 celsius was. He is a real winter picture. Very beautiful sculpture, I see it is cold. :))

nice this snowy morning composition with the bench in the foreground and the statue in the middle of the scene.I think that the pair in the statue are waiting somebody to sit on the bench to watch them.Well done.

Hello Emre,
I suppose you are not so used to this type of winter scene in Turkey.
If we don't think about the ecological drama that is going on, it gives you a very nice view, completely white... If you would not explain in your note that the sea is over there, nobody would be able to guess it.

Emre this is truly lovely. It's a perfect composition with the bench strong in the foreground, leading to the statue, which you have placed right in a frame of empty space. I have tried shooting rain falling and have not had a nice effect ;) You've captured the silence of falling snow beautifully. Well done!
