Photographer’s Note

The core of Milan is unmistakably the cathedral square, or Piazza Duomo, with the spectacular cathedral, or Duomo itself. This has been so since the Dark Ages, when an Early Christian church already stood here. Only the scale of things has much changed since.

Thousands and thousands of people still cross the square every day, strolling between the 19th century Galleria Vittorio Emanuele - dedicated to the first king of Italy, as is the monument portraying him on horseback - and, opposite, the 18th century Palazzo Reale, with the modern twin buildings of the Arengario protruding into the Piazza...

...taken through the window of a restaurant in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele on my second day in this beautiful city...

A nice BW full of humanity, so many lifes living together for as many different destiny, strong contrasts that work well here.
I think the key here is the man with its bycicle and i would have loved perhaps it to be with more space around him and his shadow not cut.
Anyway a moody one and a good picture

The geometric pattern of the floor combines nicely with the 'human pattern'. It's a striking image, for the graphics and for the life it shows. The high contrast and the B&W results very well here.

Hello Korkut,
Great play with light and shadows, but what I like here are the random attitudes of these shadows seeming to go and come from everywhere.
The lines on the ground create an interesting patern too here and are another interesting point of your photo.
I just wished to see the full shadow of the biker as he's the center of the attention here, but I understand that the random moves from all those persons where not under your control and maybe some seconds more you would have lost the scene, a problem of street shooting, isn't it?
However, this is a great shot which I like a lot as I do like the conversion to B&W.

This is one of your trademarks that I really fall for...people and their shadows, graphism, high pov...incredible light, I do find the mood created by the overall composition quite joyful under the sun, very cinematographic look. I can imagine many lives here... I've never come across such a scene from above so far...hope too one day.

Hi Korkut, you have some great lines going on there with the pavements. And the deep, dark shadows are simply fantastic. What a pity the solitary cyclist is not separated a little from the woman crossing his shadow - otherwise it would have been perfection. Excellent B&W conversion.

imzanızı taşıyan yeni bir fotograf daha,çok bekletmeden hem de..fotografta iki sey hemen dikkatimi cekti;ilki keşke ile başlayacak ama keşke bisikletin gölgesi tam olsaydı onu kesen bayan orda durmayıverseydi daha bir harika olurdu...ikincisi kalp balon..sanki bisikletli adam "kıpkırmızı" balonu taşıyan kadını takip ediyor..:)...gün içersindeki o an sizin gözünüzle keyif verici bir kareye dönüşmüş.

PS. Çok güzel görüp çektiğin bu sanat fotoları yanında madem İtalyadasın hiç değilse Workshoplara ağız tadıyla klasik manzaralarıda koysanda seyretsek,şimdi WS.da Galerianin ve Doumonun resimleride olsa ne iyi olurdu.Selamlar bol bol gezip görmeler.

Yukarılardan olmuş yine... Ters ışıkta başarılı bir fotoğraf. Canlı öğesi çok, kuşlar bile var. Dikey kadraj çok iyi. Üst kısımda insanları kesmek zorunda kalmışsınız ama olacak o kadar... Hareket halinde ve donmuş haldeki insanlar, fotoyu eğlenceli kılan gölgeler gizli bir oyunun parçası dibi duruyor. Grafiksel öğeler de olmazsa olmazlardan....

İnsanin oturduu yere fotoğraf gelirmi , böle geliyo işte, çok iyi yakalamışsın, o çok ışık alan tabanla karanlıkta kalan tabanin yani taban zemin oluyo aslinda (arkaplan da diyebiliriz ama komik olur :) ) farklı ışıkta olması çok hoşuma gitti dorusu...

The contrasts here are so hardly as we lose the direction of the walking... Where are the shadows, where are people ? It has more neither tail nor head and this picture could be looked everywhere !

what a weird moment with strong light and contrast at ist maximum. Is this the real presentation or did you do some addtional desaturation. The double vision of the real with its shadow is surreal and gives almost the impression that these are not humans but statues.

I like it because they all see mannequins, fake people. A world of aliens, or androids. The bike in the center of the picture breaks the uniformity of the picture, and it is the perfect touch for an excellent work

Sana birsey soylicem; yukarilardan cektigin o bol grafikli, her tastan her kaldirim cizgisinden faydalandigin fotograflarin var ya, ben onlara bayiliyorum. Bu da onlardan biri (malum TE'ye yavas yavas dahil oluyorum, begenimi bununla paylasayim dedim).
Lensini kirmissin diye duydum gecenlerde ama sorunu halletmissin sanirim. Pek sevindim, gecmis olsun.

I like your new photo profile... and so many good photos in your gallery. A lonely bike in a world of walking people...Very enjoyable composition of silhouettes against a strong bright ground. It lacks a bit of order, but that's problably a good thing too. You should have moved the cycler a bit upper... ;-)
