This one is a wonderful shot..I love clouds and you have got the water and the clouds very well here..!!beautiful wide angle composition with great contrast and colours..!!! by the way what r those red things in the foreground..!!r they some kind of flowers..???

Hello John,

The opposition between the quietness of the lake and the cloudy grey sky is providing a big graphical effect when looking this photo.
The composition shares the idea of the wildness of this place (opposition between the boulder of the foreground with the mountains on the opposite shore) and the warm lightning on the far background.
Definitively, Iceland is a land for photographer.

Hi John, how are you?
Great use of the wide angle here to create the incredible depth. The compo,with the mountain in the bg is almost mystic, and it works so well. I like the mood you brought in, enhanced even more by the dramatic sky with the thin line of gold light on the right as a classic icing on the cake. Stunning quality, with the amazing reflections on the water to complete a beautiful job.

Beautiful landscape, handsomely captured. Good quality. It seems to me that the horizon line divides two worlds: water and the rock are so peaceful, and the sky seems to be in motion. The effect is marvellous.
I'd like to read some more about PP.

Hi John,
This is a superb image....yes simple composition but such an attractive one. The texture of the clouds and streaks of silvery colour in the water, has created an effect that makes it look like the elements are being sucked towards that distant island. The coloured rock formation in the foreground provides the perspective in the photo. Very well done.

Hi John, Great shot. Without the rocks in the foreground the sky made expansive and dramatic with your wide angle would have been good, but the inclusion of the rocks gives a feeling of a cold and hard environment. cheers Steve

Hi John,
I do find your landscapes always elegant. And with lovely, well-chosen foregrounds. Also the colors, present but not too much. Just the right mix. I love the way you can see the clouds going one direction very fast, reflecting in the lake, the way the ligth moves to the right, the overall beautiful grey silvery tonality, very shining, very beautiful, to watch for a long time...it creates such peace.

Oh my, I cannot believe I managed to miss this shot! OK, I use wide angle lens too but still I always wonder how you are able to get such low and extended feeling between landscape and sky. It is so amazing and has a great impact on a observer, providing excellent feeling of vastness of Iceland with a small but most important touch of forground detail. I specially like this relation between forground peak of great textures and distant silhuette of the mountain. Your landscapes...always so perfect.

This is a wonderful photo. The clouds especially are really impressively captured, you can almost see them moving through the sky. Nice contrast, too, between those clouds and the still, icy, water. Well done!

Was browsing your gallery till i found this one. Uploaded when i was on the road in Asia and fur sure an image to hold still and leave a comment on. A great view with and extreme wide pov in the sky thanks to that 12-24. The depth created by those clouds is amazing, but most of all the light inside of it, perfect, i like this view very much.
