Photographer’s Note
On the northern side of Lac Léman [The Geneva Lake] the Autoroute A9 - between Lausanne and Vevey/Montreux - is winding along the billowing mountainsides.
These steep and sunbathing hills of Lavaux are extremely well suited for the growing of wine and hence the terracing vineyards are many, with grapevines in dense rows.
In this beautiful surrounding - and with a breathtaking view over the lake and the mountains on the French side - this motorway is regarded to be one of the most scenic in Europe.
Yes, I've been on the road again!

Sweeping curves of grey and strange textures of green. A good choice to let the road run from one corner and allmost to the opposite.
The shape of the cross section on the columns under the bridge tells me this is French, or close to...
Welcome back Kaj!

This beautiful countryside deserved this beautiful composition. I like the winding roadway crossing the rhythmic terraced fields. You must have used a fast shutter speed because the cars look frozen in time. Somehow, I don't think they can all be parked in the middle of the road like that ;-). Just one suggestion to make this image even more beautiful, this is one lighting condition that cries out for a polarizing filter to get rid of the glare from the road, the haze on the fields and bring out the colours.

Very nice composition combining the curves of three sorts, the highway the railway and the vineyards. Good job.

A fine diagonal composition. and it's a nice detail that the foreground is bright green and the background is more grey-green. The tight crop without sky is well chosen here. Well done!

Really good study on grey & green and graphical elements such are lines and curves.
You've got a very good eye for a detail, Kaj!
Am I right if I notice the railway going pass the motorway (down below the house)?
Truly pleasant composition!

Welcome back Kaj. This is an excellent composition. The terracing vineyards make beautiful patterns - especially in the top right corner - and the sweeping motorway seems to blend in nicely with them. I like the clarity of the shot and the way you have framed it. Well done.

Welcome back, Kaj. What a view. The road and the lines of the fields match each other perfectly. It really shows how the landscape directs the way we plan no matter how advanced we have become. The colors are beautiful here in addition to the excellent composition. Very large feeling with this great sense of depth and space. It's so crisp and beautiful I can hear the traffic moving on the road. Excellent job.

Superb photo Kaj - spectacular view made of countless beautiful well defined lines. I like the green tones and composition, though I would crop tighter to the left.

Welcome back, Kaj! A wonderfully graphical result from the curves of the highway, and the undulations from the rolling wine hills. Good color contrast and sharpness. If it were mine I would have cropped some more at the left and bottom, but of couse it also works great the way you present it here. Very nice!

Such a terrific view Kaj!
The pale curves of the roads gliding through the fresh green fields in a very well built composition. I like it, and I think it's becoming different of your previous work.
* And you've made the travel Sweden-Switserland-Sweden without a little break in Holland? Mmmmm... Next time you must come visit our little island, really! ;o)))

I can see you took this from a great advantage point. It is splendid, Kaj. What a lovely view with the grape vines in the background. Good composition with the diagonal line of the road leading towards theright corner of the frame. Very well done.
Polarizer filters are useful.I bought one on Saturday, although I haven't used it yet, as it's been raining for 2 days.

Nice picture of this highway. I have driven a lot of time on it, but I never took a picture like this, what is nice are the terracing vineyards.
Well done Kaj

This picture is excellent. You really have an eye for forms, I hav noticed that in your other pictures.
However, you could try to lift the schadows a bit. One way to do it is to mark them with the lasso a bit around, a quite high fluff (ludd, sv)(75-125) and then lift them with the upper part of the curves.

I love this Kaj, it is most impressive - almost like modern art. I like the lines of the hillside vines and the motorway/railway mimic the same curves. Great colours too. Composition and perspective are just perfect.
Bravo!

Hi Kaj,
This is a great shot which almost makes me like railways ;-)
You perfectly manage to mix the curving road and the curving fields...that's original, architecturally interesting and technically great composed and artistically very pleasant !
Congratulation
Aymeric
