Photographer’s Note

Just to show that there are really very few differences left between the two opposites of yesterday: The Russians are stuck in exactly the same kind of traffic jams as people in the west. This is St. Petersburg on a late afternoon in May 2004, and in the background you see one of the many canals and bridges that is part of the charm of Dostojevski's city. You also get a good idea of the architecture that was already there when he walked these same streets and thought up masterpieces like Crime and Punishment.
I am trying to finish my Russian travelogue. One or two more and that's it. But TE being what it is, I find it important to share these impressions with you.

Indeed the traffic in Russia and here is none different, file!!! The buildings in the back ground are very lovely, the aerial on the roofs is spectacular Per. Very nice seen!

Thanks Per - this seems pretty much like the moorning traffic I try to avoid - thanks for sharing this one - its surely not the kind of image normally seen in brochures - but nevertheless a true documentary of the real life in Russia - not that different from ours around here it seems - thanks for letting us see this Per.
