"Passenger Ahoy"..said the captain,
as he drops the anchor.
The Ship of the Desert stopped..
The front legs folded down,
as if buckling under the 'ship's' own weight...
and then the rear legs as well...
The Ship ‘docked’ on the sea of sand
The stirrups made ready, the passenger ‘boards’
The ship sets sail again, riding the dune waves in the sea of sand
Into the magical sunset...

Location : Thar, The Indian Desert
Place : The Sand dunes of Sam (pronounced Sum), 45 Km from Jaisalmer, 30 Km from the Pakistan border
Time : Late evening, approaching sunset

Hi Angshumanda,
As usual the POV is excellent. The fact that the ship is dropping the anchor has made wonders. The view of the camel with the man on its back would be an ordianry view!!! Good colors too. However, there's one complaint(though its a matter of pesonal chice), I feel the frame would look better without the footer. I think it takes away a pinch out of the shot.
Regards,
Sagarneel.

Wonderful image of the camel and his rider. The colours are stunning. I love the clear shadow too. Very good framing so there is space in front of the "ship". Well done

daniel

Hi Angshu excellent shot!A beautiful picture in deserted. I liked the scene with the camel and her driver! The colours effervescent and intense and the shade it creates balance
Georgios

Hi Angshuman,
The light of the nearby sunset on these dunes gives us a few warm colors and an image with a lot of graphical strength.
I like the dynamism that adds the action of the camel, which lies down on the sand as lowering anchors, according to your good title of the photo.
The shades on the sand are perfect, and increase the relief of its small wavinesses.
A beautiful work, with a great note.
Friendly regards,
Josep

Spectacular colour contrast between the red tinged desert sands & the clear blue sky, with good sharpness on the camel & rider. Tfs!

Hi Angshuman,
I find the movement of the animal, with its neck raised that way, very elegant and the colours of this photo are superb. The note is amusing too, well written !
Compliments,

Hi Angshuman,

A well framed desert scenery with the camel lead by his driver. The late evening light is giving beautiful colors and a shadow in the sand. The photo is clear and precise. Well done, have a nice day.

Hi Angshu
Cette photo est superbe tant pour le sujet que pour la lumière et les couleurs. L'animal est bien placé et l'ombre donne du relief et de la profondeur de champ.

Hello Angshu,

What a wonderful capture! Nice and sharp and wonderfully placed in the composition with the long shade. Very nice.
A ship it is. Like the title with the idea of docking and dropping an anchor. Well, it is the ship of the desert!!

Salut Angshuman!
Un magnifique photo bien composée qui me rappelle mon aventure dans le désert du Sahara en Tunisie.
Excellent éclairage et merveilleuses couleurs. Beau travail et intéressante note.
Bravo!...

Sam Dunes is one my baadest souvenir from India (it was in 1995). It's overcrowded and dirty (I mean it was)... It could be great, as your compo suggests it, but it's not.
Concerning the compo by itself, it's ok, well realized, in a beautiful. Off centering is of course ok.
Stéphane
PS : You seem to be travelling a lot around India, don't you ?

Hi Angshuman. Wonderful capture. I love the warm colours you have captured in this shot. Good composition also. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

hi angshu,

the clarity is amazing !! and the photograph really compliments the title.

hello angshuman

a well timed and framed shot. the camel is caught right before descending on his knees (and possibly swearing at its rider, as my experience atests). the light is perfect and i like the smooth clarity of detail you are presenting here.

Bonjour Angshu
A well timed capture of 'the captain dropping the anchor' :D who stands so well against the blue sky. He is well positioned in the compo and I like very much the posture of the camel, his shadow on the sand and the man who's looking at you. Great light and lovely colors too!
Cheers
Marilyn
